![]() Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter. A tiny busy fluffy-haired girl who occasionally writes stories about her favourite characters, and has now decided to put them out into the world. Casual writing between classes and work shifts and other life things, so I can't promise regular updates. Sorry! Current WIP: Remorse F/F. Multi-chapter. HP AU beginning shortly before the Battle of Hogwarts. Fem!Voldemort because I haven't seen any other stories with this, and I cannot for the life of me understand why. All context and characters belong to J.K. Rowling. My interpretations of the characters are largely my own (I can't for the life of me understand why so many characters are white, abled, and straight), and I may have a few OCs here and there. FOR FUTURE REFERENCE I have to be upfront about this: my fic really isn't going to take the direction of one character abusing the other. I like my darkness in other ways. Rarely have I liked a story where one member of a relationship is abused by another - in some circumstances, say, between villainous characters, you can expect it, since they are, you know, demonstrably evil. But honestly, there is so little out there in fanfiction that shows complex but healthy relationships between women. I don't know why, when you can subvert the trend in mainstream media (which is part of the point of fanfiction, to write what professional authors and other creators aren't writing) abuse is so often assumed as necessary to female character's development, or to the development of a relationship. I simply don't buy that it's reasonable to have it, like it's the default plot point. I'm all for evil characters being evil. I like my stories with a bit of darkness. Nevertheless, evil manifests itself in so many different ways - there is cruelty, and deceit, and destruction - but sexual abuse and gendered violence of any kind will not be present in my stories. Not ever. I do not have the wherewithal to deal with it in fiction in an appropriate way, and frankly, I'm bored and angered by storylines of mistreated women all across the spectrum of fiction. If a chapter or one-shot includes gore or violence or murder, there will be an indication for it at the top of the page (ex. tw: gore). |
