I wind up waking up in a underground lab, fearful, but I was ready for what was going to happened. But not this though.

When Sonic and his pals enter a new world, they must work with their new-found friends to protect the land of Equestria from a new threat. Get ready, because the land of Harmony is about to meet the heroes of Chaos!

So close to a happy ending, everyone had gotten out of the underground, nobody knew about Chara and she didn't even want to fight anybody for once. Then some Gem things come along and get in the way of their happy ending and Frisk tries to talk to them. Which ends up failing dozens of times, so they let Chara take rein for once. A stress-relief fight.
