![]() Author has written 4 stories for Stealth, and Doctor Who. The picture is actually of a Tree Swallow. They're quite a bit bigger than Barn Swallows, but I don't have any good pictures of a Barn Swallow right now. General note about me: My name is Natalie, and I'm a recently married, twenty-four-year-old full-time vet tech who doesn't really have a life outside of work. On the rare occasions that I do try to have one, I'm either writing, reading, painting, or taking a nap. *IMPORTANT STUFF* Review Policies: Any and all reviews are appreciated, which is why I do my best to reply promptly to all reviews that I receive, even if it's just to say, "Thank you for taking the time to read and review my story." However, I will not reply to reviews in Author's Notes on my chapters. It is my opinion that multiple, and oftentimes expansive Author's Notes containing replies to reviews give readers a false sense of how large an update is and take away from the flow of the story. If you do not have a fanfiction account, please leave an email address that I can use to contact you, or you will not receive a reply to your review. I will make it clear in the email subject who it is from and what I am emailing you for. (For example, "Barnswallow13's Reply to Review on Rabbit-Heart Chapter One") Contact Policies: If you just want to talk to me about writing in general, or want advice on a story you are writing, please don't hesitate to do so. I don't bite. Either send me a PM or leave a review on one of my stories with your email address in the event that you are not a member of fanfiction.net. I will not post my email address on my profile because I have no desire to sort through spam. Notice: The events outlined in Shrink are no longer consistent with the storyline in Rabbit-Heart. *END OF IMPORTANT STUFF* General note about my writing process: It all starts with an idea. Sometimes I start drafting immediately after I get the idea, but not always. The first stage I go through is the write down as much about the idea as possible. I usually craft my plot around these notes. Secondly, I construct a general outline of what I want to happen. At that point, I may begin drafting, or I might sit on it for a while and tweak the outline as I see fit. The next step is to draft the entire story as fast as I possibly can without losing any necessary details. This helps me finalize the plotline. Then I go back and make a second, chapter-by-chapter outline. Once that is complete, I begin the drafting process again, this time dividing it up chapter by chapter. Any first draft I do as fast as I can. On the second draft, I go much slower, taking the time to carefully choose my words and sentences and make sure that I am presenting a clear picture of what I want my readers to see when they read my work. Once my second draft is done, I sit on it for a day. This allows me to come back and read through it a second time, add any tweaks I feel necessary, and hopefully catch any errors I might have made while writing it. At this point, if I had a beta reader (which I currently don't) I would send it off for her or him to read. If the beta reader says that I have no continuity or mechanical errors in the chapter, then I consider it ready to post. Story information I Will Not Bow General/Background - This is an alternate universe of the movie Stealth. It mainly focuses on the character Katherine Wilbourne, and is told from her perspective. The plot will generally follow the movie, but there will be some changes. I plan to add to the depth of the movie's plot, and just switch things up a bit in general. IMPORTANT: Katherine Wilbourne is replacing Kara Wade. Kate is not a rehashed version of Kara, and Kara Wade does not show up in my story whatsoever (Besides, the only reason she was in the movie in the first place was to be a love interest for Ben Gannon). Kate is an original character that I made up. Current status - On Hiatus. I fully intend to finish this story, as Stealth was the movie that got me into writing fanfiction in the first place. However, I don't know when that will happen at this time. If things change, I'll made sure to let people know. Updates - To be determined. The Doctor's Visit General/Background - This story was a gift for a friend who was having a bad day. It began as a snippet of dialogue that I made up on the spot and grew into a six-page short story. That same friend insisted that I publish it on this site as soon as I perfected it. And there you have it. Current status - Complete. Updates - None. Shrink General/Background - This was originally something that I wrote for a creative writing class, but I had so much fun with it that I decided that I'd let other people read it. This is actually a teaser for my newest work although it is no longer consistent with Rabbit-Heart's storyline. I've changed that quite a bit since I wrote this little scene. Current status - Complete. Updates - None. Rabbit-Heart General/Background - This story started as a dream I had. It was originally to be a co-authored work with a friend of mine, but she became too busy to do so. I've had this idea for almost two years now, and it's been majorly altered throughout that time to what you read today. The story centers around seventeen-year-old Natasha Susan Bernard from St. Louis, Missouri, USA. She's basically my alter-ego in the Doctor Who universe and has all of my major personality qualities. In the Doctor's timeline, this story takes place near the end of Season Six of Doctor Who, after "The God Complex" and before "The Wedding of River Song." For Natasha, this story begins in May of 2010. I've had a lot of fun writing this story, and I hope that my readers enjoy reading it as much as I've enjoyed writing it. Current status - In progress. Updates - Sporadic. |
