![]() Author has written 1 story for Gallagher Girls. Hey, what's up? I'm a student who lives on the west side of the Mississippi (since I'm paranoid, I won't tell you anything more) and likes to read and write. I know. No duh, or I wouldn't be here. I like horseback riding (which is an actual, tiring, consuming sport; shut up, it's in the Olympics) and softball. Okay. Enough about me. Here's some of my favorite quotes: "Never insult a man until you've walked a mile in their shoes. Then, you'll be a mile away and have their shoes." "The best argument against democracy is a five minute chat with the average voter." -Winston Churchill "Utilizing my fine command of the English language, I said nothing." "Failure is not an option- it comes bundled with Windows Vista." And here's something I had to put in my profile: You know you live in 2010 when... 1.) You accidentally enter your password on a microwave. 2.) You haven't played solitare with real cards for years. 3.) The reason for not staying in touch with your friends is they don't have a Facebook. 4.) You'd rather look all over the house for the remote instead of just pushing the buttons on the TV. 6.) Your boss doesn't even have the ability to do your job. 7.) As you read this list you keep nodding and smiling. 8.) As you read this list you think about sending it to all your friends. 9.) And you were too busy to notice number 5. 10.) You scrolled back up to see if there was a number 5. 11.) Now you are laughing at yourself stupidly. 12.) Put this in your profile if you fell for that, and you know you did. Dad, What is Politics? A little boy goes to his dad and asks, "What is politics?" His dad says, "Well son, let me try to explain it this way: I'm the breadwinner of the family, so let's call me Capitalism. Your Mom, she's the administrator of the money, so we'll call her the Government. We're here to take care of your needs, so we'll call you the People. The nanny, we'll consider her the Working Class. And your baby brother, we'll call him the Future. Now, think about that and see if that makes sense," So the little boy goes off to bed thinking about what dad had said. Later that night, he hears his baby brother crying, so he gets up to check on him. He finds that the baby has severely soiled his diaper. So the little boy goes to his parents' room and finds his mother sound asleep. Not wanting to wake her, he goes to the nanny's room. Finding the door locked, he peeks in the keyhole and sees his father in bed with the nanny. He gives up and goes back to bed. The next morning, the little boy says to his father, "Dad, I think I understand the concept of politics now." The father says, "Good son, tell me in your own words what you think politics is all about." The little boy replies, "Well, while Capitalism is screwing the Working Class, the Government is sound asleep, the People are being ignored and the Future is in deep poo." Thanks for reading (if anyone actually reads this)!! Have you ever found that people overuse the word "smirk" in their fanfics? |
