![]() Author has written 12 stories for Lord of the Rings. 05 September 2010 For those who do not know much about me, those finding my stories for the first time, this is a caution for you: I write really long stories and they tend to be dark and angsty. They also require that readers will be familiar with Tolkien's main works (LOTR, Silmarillion, Book of Lost Tales). If you are only familiar with the movies the stories may seem strange to you, for I deal mostly with elves, Greenwood's elves, and they are not perfect people but very flawed. So, if you haven't read Tolkien's work beyond LOTR (or even that), I encourage you to give it a go. Better than anything you'll read here, by far. In any case, read here at your own risk. This universe you've entered may not be what you're expecting. I write slash almost exclusively and every story has slash elements in it. Shrugs. I like slash so that's why I write it. If you don't, you will not find my stories very comfortable. I also write in various shades of violet :D so if that gets under your skin, also not a comfortable place for you here. Those who know me, Hi and sorry for the long disappearance. Things have been. Well, ff.net is a strange place, I guess. I came back because there is a large number of people who read here. One thing I am not going to do, and this is inspired by something currently going on in the reviews for Fractured Light, is answer anonymous reviews. Folks who sign in and review get a direct reply, those who cannot or will not get a generic 'thanks for all those reading and reviewing' at the end of each chapter. Sorry, but I just do not have the energy or time to answer everyone's issues/compliments/criticisms. Please do not use the review button to get into a review war with another reader, whether to help me or not. One thing I would like readers to understand: I do not have a beta reader anymore (no one can live with my insecurities) so there will be mistakes. I apologise for them here, and appreciate anyone letting me know if there is a serious problem. For example, I once forgot which of the Galadhrim Erestor was involved with (Feud) and suddenly had Rumil in the story where he never should have been. Fixing that came about because someone told me. So tell me if you see something like that, please. Ditto for poor grammar/spelling. (Extra ditto for telling me when I forget how many orcs Legolas shot at Helm's Deep.) Otherwise, the stories will remain as they are posted. They are the way they are because I am the way I am, and this is my favourite pastime. Obviously, I must like them as they are; thus, any person hoping or expecting them to change because something in them conflicts with any one individual's personal tastes regarding characterisation, purple prose, plot, setting, motives, too much detail, not enough detail, too long, too much angst, etc is unrealistic. This is how I write. If want to change how I write, guaranteed, you'll notice it :D I understand people may have issues with some of what I write, please see paragraph one for that. If you do have issues with what I write, or with me, and continue reading anyway, I cannot help you. This is only the internet and my education is in geology not psychology. I will try to get everything caught up here as I work on finishing things. Feud, of course, is the main project, but Aearlinn and Balrog are closer to my heart these days, so I will make attempts to return to them as I can. Also Meril Thafn (I know, it isn't here yet). Please just be patient (as you folks have been for so long) and realise that Feud takes a lot out of me and sometimes I have to leave it for a time. Hence the other stories appear in various states of completion. I figure if I have become bored with something, the rest of the world probably has, too, and so the story goes to the back burner. Temporarily :D As long as I am alive, so are the stories. SO - - I am feeling pretty positive these days that I will get a lot of work done while I am in this little town out in the middle of nowhere. Oh, fixed my beloved Macintosh :D so the fingers are back on familiar territory. erobey |
