Broke my Heart

I never thought this day would come

the day he decided to move on

he said that it was best for us

did he know he broke my heart?

he said you're just not right for me

he said let's take a break

he said i'm sorry but i'm just not feeling it

did he know he broke my heart?

i was finally starting to let go

i was finally ready to be open

i was really truly falling in love

did he know he broke my heart?

that was all a few months ago

and for most of them i was dreaming

dreaming he would take me back

did he know he broke my heart?

but lately i have realized

it was not my loss but his

and so i have stopped wondering

did he know he broke my heart?

i have realized he is gone

never seen again

he has finished his golden masterpiece

he is at the end of the end

i will miss him always and forever

my loving old granddad

and now he is in heaven

and i am not so sad
