A fan of the Mass Effect universe created by Bioware, I have created this account to publish free fanfiction based on Mass Effect.

I have been an avid writer for as long as I can remember - but have never applied myself to writing a full-length novel. That all changed when I experienced the Mass Effect trilogy of games. This wonderful, gripping, visceral world of science fiction has spurred me on to create my first novel based on the universe of Mass Effect.

As my physical self grew and matured with an understanding of this amazing universe, so did my virtual self (a/k/a Karen Shepard). Commander Karen Shepard is - as you have more than likely guessed - MY Shepard. Karen Shepard started life orphaned, not knowing her parents, and scraping a miserable life together in the back alleys of Earth's massive cities. Through the events of Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3, she became something she would have laughed at in her adolescence. Humanity's only hope. Before that, however, she is a human, and a woman. Her endeavors to save the galaxy from the Reaper war have been moulded, shaped and forged by the love of one man. One turian. From their first shaky attempts at romance aboard Cerberus' Normandy SR-2, to when they lay awaiting their deaths in each other's arms during the culmination of the Reaper war, Karen Shepard and Garrus Vakarian have been bound together by emotions thicker than blood and faster than love.

The characters, atmosphere and relationships I experienced along my journey through the games of Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 all brought me to spend a year of my life crafting my book EndShard. Ultimately, that has brought me here.
