As i lay down to sleep next to Maria, I looked at her and thought that i was so lucky. Not many men can say that the have a wife like Maria. Then i started to remember the day i found out she was coming to Moonacre. I let my mind wander as i drifted to sleep...

As I was making my rounds checking the traps, one of father's men yelled at me that my father wanted to see me. I was lucky that is was Amos and not anyone else, at least he doesn't yell "Mum killer" as i walk by. "Alright i'm coming!" I yelled at him, I was already have a bad day; I was given the worst job in the entire clan, checking traps is like pulling teeth.

As i was heading to fathers rooms i saw that people looked worried. Women were rushing inside their homes with children. Most men though looked angry for some reason, i hope that my sister hadn't returned. My sister, Loveday had betrayed the du Noir clan by falling in love. With a Merriweather! Sometimes i don't know if i miss her or not. She is about 20 years older than me, she left when i was 6 and never came back. I guess i just didn't have time to get to know her. Father hated her no doubt about that, but father also hated a lot of things. Including me most of the time. Most people blamed me for my mums death, like its my fault she died in childbirth!

When i got to fathers rooms i saw he was quite angry, I'm used to that. "ROBIN!" he bellowed. "Yes father?" I asked while wondering what i did this time. "I have a mission for you my boy." he replied. I perked up when he said this, missions were usually for older men and as i was only 14 i only dreamed of going on one. I hoped it would be something exciting. "I need you to go to London. A Merriweather has died." he said with a nasty look on his face. My heart sunk, father just wanted me to do his dirty work. "Father, what does this have to do with us?" i asked, confused. "Quite boy and i will tell you!" he yelled. "This Merriweather has a daughter. She is the new Moon Princess. Go to his funeral, get the girl, and then bring her to me. It is a simple task and i except you to do this for me without trouble. Are we clear?" he said. "Yes father" i said, walking away and wondering what the new Moon Princess will be like.

The Moon Princess belonged to the Merriweather clan. They were our rivals. It all started with the Moonpearls; long ago a du Noir and a Merriweather were to get married. The du Noir girl was the first ever Moon Princess, and was loved by all nature. One fatefully night nature gave the Moon Princess the Moonpearls. They gave power and riches to ever was the holder. And on her wedding night the Moon Princess showed everyone the Moonpearls and Sir William, my ancestor and Sir Wrolf Merriweather, her soon to be husband started to fight over them. Then the Moon Princess got very angry and put a curse on the valley. On the 5000 moon the valley would be destroyed. Father thinks that after that happens that then we can take the valley. But sometimes I'm afraid that it will destroy us as well.
