![]() Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter. Plimplamploum... Welcome on my profile ! I only just started writing my very first fanfiction, I hope you like it ! (if not, there are plenty other out there for your pleasure, please, don't let me detain you...) So, as I'm a total beginner, for now, I don't even really know what to put on my profile : I mean, I'm not going to speak about MYSELF : nothing interesting to say, plus, I'm a total paranoid, when it comes to personal information and the web... Well, I will say one thing, I'm actually french, so english is NOT my first langage (like, at all. And I was terrible in that subject at school, because, even if I like langages, I always hated learning/working/studying etc so damn much... Let's just say that my most redeeming point to my teachers was that I was very polite in my looking by the window during lessons, refuse to do my homework and stuff...) : therefore, I'm pretty sure you WILL find mistakes and clumsy use of words, as well as repetitions because I simply don't know a synomym etc plenty of time in my story(-ies ?). You are welcome to correct them (politely), and to help me improve by explaining what I did wrong where and why, but I reserve the right to accept or not those corrections : depending on the storypart, I might feel it's still better with my bad english, who knows... By the way, my pseudo is french : plim plam ploum... But I have exactly no idea how to translate that : it would convey some sort of bored and unimpressed TADAAAM! How can you translate that ? (Epic fail ? but not... because it doesn't need to mean any kind of failure : just something quite unimpressive someone decided to emphasize by a noise for some kind of reason...) : do english have some kind of sound / onomatopoeia (thanks google translate) for that ? Oh, I know ! I'm going to talk a bit about my taste in fanfictions !! Given that my one and only fanfic at the moment is from Harry Potter fandom, I'm going to talk about these ! Soooo : What do I like, what do I dislike (I think another fanfiction.net user called that random plot peeves of her/his...) ? Like : Ron/Hermione pairing (there are so cute and stupid : FUN !), fixit stories where Sirius doesn't die. GEN and looong stories where the scenario is well thought through, with humor, and new twist to old ropes. When the hero gets wounded a LOT (I'm a sadistic bitch, to all those poor poor characters that I like...) random plot peeves of mine : unfinished very good story : that makes me frustrated, very unpleasant - even if I already know I'm taking big chances at becoming a total hypocrite by doing the very same thing : not about my story being good (you are your own judge, about that), but about not finishing it : I DO have a scenario with an actual END (I'm so proud !), but little problem : from where I stand right now, there's going to be an awful lot of chapters. Given my incredible ability at becoming distracted, there is little chance that I actually stick on that story until the end. Especially when I already have other major plot bunnies looking at me with puppydog eyes ("I want you to think about ME! forget the others, they are already a week old : fossiles !"). But well : If people were too affraid of not finishing, nothing would ever start, and that wouldn't be good either. Too powerfull Harry, All-Knowing Hermione, anyone-bashing, Bad-Weasley, Bad-Dumble, bad/anyone who is good in the book, actually, and everything that makes my favorites characters look bad (an all-powerfull harry make the other look weak : don't like, an all-knowing hermione makes the others look stupid : the same): obviously, sometimes, I can like the story anyway if it's well done... Some pairings, from my point of view, are just WRONG ! Harry/Lord Voldemort (Whaaaat ?), Harry/Lucius (totally disgusting), Harry/Severus (can we get any worse ?), Harry/Sirius (yes, apparently, we can). And plenty other : but those, I find terribly disturbing before I even START the story (useless to mention, I usually skip the story without even trying). Just so you know : I'm not against slash (even if I usually prefer canon pairings), I can actually enjoy some harry/draco, sirius/remus, I even found a Harry/Ron very cool, once (and that one had better be good, because it clearly stated that my favorite one (ron/hermione) was never to be.) But there are just some things I can't work with... And those upstairs ? Disturb me more about the age difference and how it can possibly come given the original relationship than anything (LV/Harry : excuse me ? Killed your parents, and tried repeatedly to end you too ? Lucius/Harry : he's your son's age ! Severus/Harry : teacher/student : No ! (same problem with severus/hermione, by the way), Sirius/harry: Do I really need to explain?) Changing Harry's name by Harriet, harold, Hadrian, yadayada... Why not keep freaking HARRY ? It's his name! Full name! And I really don't like having to change my habits concerning names. Now, pretty much everything I don't like, I can be made to like, if the story manage to make it worth it : I actually did find stories with bad-pretty much everyone that were actually good, so good I didn't care how my little beloved characters were desfigured. And even some actually good stories pairing Harry with the previously mentionned (well, not yet about Lucius or Sirius...) : So, well : be carefull if you look in my favorites : you can find pretty much anything, in the end... In a more general kind of way, where I don't keep myself in Harry Potter fandom, I don't like big age difference in the pairings, and I have some serious problems with incest (which make one of my worst nightmare the existence of some batman/robin stories: eeerrrk! : NEVER ever read any of them, actually... That's how strongly I feel bad about it...) I have nothing agains explicit sex, but I do prefer for it to go naturally with the plot, and I like it better if it doesn't go with dirty talk, and certainly no sub/dom (there something wrong about it, no matter if it's consensual, not, dubious... No matter what : I usually consider there must be something rotten in the relationship, even if they are both happy where they are...): And I prefer for any kind of explicit sex to be warned... (maybe I was a prude, in another life...) I really don't like major-character death, generally speaking. It's OK if it's canon, but I usually wasn't happy the author needed to kill of someone in the first place, so obviously, if you can avoid adding to it... Yes, I love torturing heroes, but I really don't like death : a bit too permanent for my taste... What I reeeeally like, every fandom wise: adventure (give so much opportunity to torture my favorites characters), humor, bromance... and I AB-SO-LU-TE-LY LOVE : CRACK ! My sense of humor being extremely open, it includes absurd : it's actually one of my favorites (which make my take on Tonks character a bit unusual, probably...) : some crackish-story, even if pretty-short, ended up extremely high in my favorite list : I still remember a drabble from Merlin fandom where the author made Merlin refer to the hitchiker Guide to the galaxy : WONDERFUL ! Another of Harry Potter fandom, where Harry, in the graveyard, send some kind of spell wich call the narrator voice from the "not being seen" sketch from the Monty Pythons : I think I actually cried... And another one explaining how Harry and Ginny (more Ginny than Harry) choose their children name to piss off ghostly-Snape... Yes, if you look at my favorites, you WILL find some extreme-crack... (Maybe that's the kind of community I could create, some day : a community about crackish-story in my various favorite fandoms...) Okay, now, a few stories with special thank you to the autor for bringing it to existence: (not all yet finished, and most of them quite long...) The Jumper Chronicles (https://www.fanfiction.net/s/9665864/1/The-Jumper-Chronicles): a wonderfull cross over with Sherlock and Harry Potter: Did any of you ever thought how wonderfully fitting it would be for John Watson to actually be our favourite werewolf Remus Lupin in hinding from the Wizarding World? It sooo makes sense when you read it! The Merging (https://www.fanfiction.net/s/9720211/1/The-Merging): One of the few stories that make it actually possible to have a superpowered Harry with a good explanation. Only little problem, the story is pretty close to harem, even if there are still no pairing (the simple fact that clearly every girl kind of fall in love with Harry is already a bit much for me...) But excellent anyway (each girl falling actually has a reason for doing so...)! Magical relations (https://www.fanfiction.net/s/3446796/1/Magical-Relations) : an excellent other one: where Dudley get to go at Hogwarts with Harry: What changes out of THAT unexpected point? An awfull lot, and wow, that's so good! Litlle Bird's Vengeance (https://www.fanfiction.net/s/9289915/1/Little-Bird-s-Vengeance) : Batman / Avenger Cross over: what can I say... I'm an enormous fan of Tim Drake as robin, and really super enormous fan of the same Tim as Red Robin: mix cuteness, cleverness, badassness and everything I could possibly like to the absolute perfection, and the author just managed to put him where I want, apparently: in trouble... Love you Tim... Worse than Halloween (https://www.fanfiction.net/s/8544935/1/Worse-Than-Halloween) (and the other related stories by the same author): Batman / NCIS cross over : too bad each chapter equal a story, there are 4 stories all in all, and the author seems to give up on that idea too soon (the real story is far from closed, it only just began!), but how good is that? The team find a de-aged and wounded Tim at a crime scene, having to find who he is and notify the family... Tamtatam! Wolverines, Wendigos and Winchesters (https://www.fanfiction.net/s/5155714/1/Wolverines-Wendigos-and-Winchesters): Cross Over Supernatural and X-men: prepilot, mostly centered on Dean, with the supposition that he has the mutant gene, and guess what are his power? Empathy (guess how people around him feel) and ability to alter other people perception: the perfect weapon to con everyone and anyone: that's the perfect explanation I was waiting for so long!! (I so think he does have that awesome superpower!) When Worlds Collide (https://www.fanfiction.net/s/9018850/1/When-Worlds-Collide): Cross over NCIS and Supernatural: and they actually manage to keep both show on their own "universe" for all but maybe the last 2/3 chapters : as in: NCIS actually has no proof supernatural is real until the very end, and they actually manage to find good explanation for everything they could have cross path with within science and stuff. Awesome too, plus, the characters stay in character quite well. Well, that's going to be a pause for now... I can't really list everything, anyway... (but that's too bad we can't add our own commentaries to our favourites stories...) By the way, if you refer to my favourites to find other nice reading, I prefer to warn you : those last month, I only added on my favourites the finished stories (or you would have twice or thrice that much, that I keep an alert on) : sadly, many many stories that I follow totally deserve to be put there too, but as I said, that would just be too much... Plus, some day, I'll have to kick some out, because I obviously wasn't as picky as I am now for my first stories... Really wish we could add comment : this one good, but not epic, this one is barely okay, but bring out a completely new idea with incredible potential, this one is a complete tragedy, I never stopped crying, but I loved it, so it must be good anyway, this one has nothing special, but is still good if you don't know what to read, or do, for the next few hours... Oooor : This one is EPIC ! Mind-blogging ! Totally changed my view on this character ! On that event ! That totally makes SENSE (even if it would NEVER be canon, for any reason you could possibly want) Sadly, comment are not possible, at least, not that I realised... |
