Melly Niko is an award winning makeup artist who understands cosmetics from an artist's perspective. Working in the beauty industry for two decades, she quickly acquired a range of artistic skills which along with her eye for detail, helped her become a successful painter as well.

Melly Niko was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia.

She had over 20 years' experience in beauty therapy, makeup artistry and hairdressing. In 1990, she opened her own makeup and beauty studio in Armadale, and in the year that followed, she was elected to be on the committee team board of the Australian Federation of Aestheticians and Beauty Therapists.

At this point, she separated the artist from the business owner and realised how important the former was to her. This led her to get a Diploma in Fine Art from the Latrobe Street College of Art and Design in 2008 and to study Contemporary Painting from the Studio Arts Victorian College of Art, University of Melbourne in 2009. In the same year she started attending classes for Bachelors in Fine Arts from the Curtin University in Perth.

This magical feeling she captures in her own brand of makeup, named proudly “MELLY NIKO,” as well as in her first makeup brush, “Skin Perfect Brush,” launched in April, 2014. Her bedazzling artistry casts its spell within her entire line of cosmetics, including lipsticks, lipgloss, foundation, concealers, minerals, bronzing powders, eyeshadows, mascara, liquid liners, and a full range of makeup brushes (100% vegan) embellished with Swarovski crystals.

Melly has also entered her canvases in a number of exhibitions and has won several awards for her creations. Her main interest lies in capturing the emotive expressions in faces on canvas which she claims allows her to capture the essence of her subject. Currently she is exploring her potential as a professional painter and with her unique and intuitive regard for human expressions it might not be long before her artistic career takes off as well.
