By chance, Usopp happens upon a merman named Luffy, not only opening his eyes to creatures beyond humans, but giving him the inspiration he needed for an important art project. Soon, his classmate Ace also takes an interest in the merman — now, if only they could get Luffy to talk to them!

They never tell each other they care. They never really have to.

(In which there's a trap and a fantasy, and physics are casually destroyed in the name of Luffy.)

Even when they're not together they're still connected. It's just in a way nobody in the world (not even themselves) can see. Set during the two year separation.

Usopp is feeling homesick, among other things. He gets a little bit of reassurance from his friends.
