This Pride and Prejudice variation looks at what might have transpired between Darcy and Elizabeth, had Darcy not come to Netherfield in the first instance, and thus did not prevent the marriage of Bingley to Jane. It explores the ideals of romance and the realities of marriage in Regency society. It is also very much in need of a better blurb, and possibly a title...

Darcy has been very brooding lately, & Bingley thus thinks it necessary to cheer him up by inviting him along to Netherfield. But instead of enjoying himself Darcy only gives offence & even tries his amiable friend's patience to an as yet unprecedented extent.

Lizzie gradually takes over the running of Longbourn after becoming aware of her father's neglect... with impacts far greater than she could have ever imagined.

A second glance at Elizabeth, and Darcy felt an immediate pull. In a library one evening, his guard dropped, and he couldn't help himself. It was not a lady's imagination that led a rapid jump from admiration to matrimony skipping over love, but it was rather the heated actions of both. Deep feelings tend to get in the way when hidden and can undo the potential for happiness.

Fitzwilliam Darcy is the CEO of Darcy Technologies and Elizabeth Bennet is his newest employee. Soon, the two start a casual sexual relationship, despite the fact that commitment-phobe Lizzy proclaims to hate the man. What if Margaret Hale did look back at Mr. Thornton as she was about to leave Milton after the death of her parents? The story continues after Margaret visits the Thorntons to say goodbye and to give Mr. Thornton her father's book. Book and series based.

So the title is self-explanatory. The story is about our two favourite people falling in love.

As suggested in the title of Jane Austen's original work, Darcy's greatest failing is pride. His passionate love for Elizabeth only mitigates this character flaw, resulting in the awful proposal at Hunsford. If happenstance forced Darcy to marry Elizabeth before he loved her, or even knew her at all, would he ever be able to get past his pride to recognise his fortune?

Distressed by her mother's death and afraid for her brother's life, Margaret Hale turns to prayer for comfort and guidance. The answer she receives will force her to swallow her pride and depend upon another. But will she be able to do so?

What would happen if John had expressed his feelings before asking for marriage, and Margaret had thought about her words before speaking them? The story is better than the summary, please read and review.
