![]() Author has written 1 story for CSI: Miami. I'm a recent college graduate. I've been reading fanfiction for years, but it wasn't until I graduated that I really decided I wanted to write anything. I hope one day to be a published writer (don't we all) but it seems as soon as I've come up with an idea, someone gets the book written and published before I'm done with the first few chapters. So I'm currently brainstorming for new ideas and seeing where the chips fall. I'm thankful to have a job but work east up more than eight hours of my day When I'm not on the job, I'm either reading or online. I'm in to mainly sci-fi and fantasy, gothic/horror, but I've found that I have a love for forensics. I actually watch a lot of shows, and I doubt I'll get around to writing down most of the ideas that pop into my head while I'm reading/watching. I like all sorts of pairings, between men and women, men and men, and women and women. Four years ago, I didn't even know what slash was, nevermind that I would enjoy reading about it. And writing it. But I do, and I clearly list them as slash and which pairings are involved. My reasoning is human nature, especially sexuality, is a not a spectrum of right and wrong but a wheel of options. Who's to say where the wheel should land and why? Remember the Golden Rule. If sex, and especially slash, bugs you, I'm sorry. I'm sure something else I have written, or will write, will be equally as entertaining as that particular story. Feel free to hit the back button. But don't read it just so you have something to flame or flame it without really reading it. Both are bad and show how emotionally and intellecually smart you really are. If you have a fanfiction account, it's also a great way to get you kicked off. So let's just been friends and say I'll be as nice and respectful of your views/thoughts/beliefs if you be as equally nice and respectful of mine. :) Ideas in the Works I have a post X3 story I started August 2006. I recently found the most updated version of the story and am slowly adding to it. Considering it's one of at least 3 stories, being approx. 45 chapter arcs, I don't see it making it to fanfiction.net just yet, however Tons of CSI Miami stories, most notably Phoenix Rising (the first in the House of the Miami Sons 'verse I created); Everything Comes In Threes which is a three-shot piece that I hope to have finished before 2010 is over; Wicked Days, a storyline that plays with the idea that team belongs to the unseen "supernatural" world in some way; and a series tenatively titled Insert Girl...HERE! that plays with the idea if someone else besides Ryan Wolfe was hired at the lab in season three. Other individual CSI Miami stories seem to be centered on some aspect of season 3, although one of them is in the season 4 timeline, and another at the beginning of season 5. I don't know if I'll get a lot of them actually written, but I'll try. I've also got a lot of "crossover" ideas with other TV shows or books (the Weather Warden series comes to mind!), although I'm not sure they should be called that. Pitch Black: I lost the story. I found it again on a old flash drive. One story has morphed into a trilogy. But before I write, I need to figure out how much I want to reveal in the first installment, so that's at the end of my to-do list. Harry Potter: I read all the books right after the Half-Blood Prince hit the theatres that has sparked several ideas, one of which is a trilogy that takes place after the war is over and two others that play the "what if" game as far as how things would have been different if Harry was raised by someone else other than the Dursleys. Common story plots, yes, but believe you, me, I've got my own spin on it. Books One of the best book series out there is by Rob Thurman (Nightlife, Moonshine, Madhouse, Deathwish). Cal and Niko have an amazing brother dynamic; Cal himself is just hilarious. I absolutely recommend reading them! Huge fan of the Night World Series by L.J. Smith. I've been waiting ten years at least for the last book. I really don't like the fact that she's changed the timeline (after the Millennium instead of before), but I guess that's author's choice. I just excited she's back to writing again. Book pairings. In the same vein, Amelia Atwater Rhodes books (In the Forest of the Night, Demon in my View, etc.,) are wonderful, although I think I'm starting to outgrow them. Book pairings. The Dune Chronicals are dense but good. The Inheritance Trilogy (Eragon, Eldest) are great although sometimes predictable. I'm also a big fan of the Maximum Ride books by James Patterson, the Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlaine Harris, and I'm a huge Laurell K. Hamiton fan. I've also recently discovered the Dresden Files (Just finished reading Changes and OH MY GOD can't I not wait until the next book) and Rachel Caine's Weather Warden Series. I love them both! Seriously considering writing a Weather Warden/CSI Miami cross. Just because the Weather Warden books take place in Florida. TV Shows the 4400: "The war for the future will be fought in the past." I love the idea, I love the characters, and I can't believe USA isn't bringing it back for a 5th Season. The story so did not end with the forming of Promise City. I mean, does Tom take the shot or not? Does Shawn return to Collier's camp or displace the guilt of his brother's death and blame Collier? Will Richard ever get out of NTAC's facility in VA? I turn to fanfiction for possible answers... Favorite pairings: Tom/Diana, Diana/Marco, Shawn/Jordan, Kyle/Isabelle. Angel: I loved the first two seasons and I kept waiting for it to get better, although I spent most evenings cursing at the characters (why did Angel have to sleep with Darla? Why did Wesley have to be so stupid? Why did Cordy have to sleep with Connor?). There were some great episodes in the later 3 seasons, especially when James Masters (Spike) got on board. But they shouldn't have killed Fred. Despite all that, still ended tragically before it's time. Thank goodness for graphic novels and fanfic! Favorite pairings are Angel/Buffy, Angel/Spike, and Wesley/Fred. Blood Ties: a sexy vampire, a tough-as-nails PI and her gothic secretary. How dysfunctional and yet original (I love shows based on books) can you get?!Stupid Lifetime dropped it. I have no clue where I'm going to get my vampire fix now, since I'm not really a Twilight fan, despite my penname. Favorite Pair: Henry/Vicki Bones: I love David Boreanaz as Booth more than I ever loved him as Angel. Emily Deschanel is freaking fantastic as Brennan. Even though half the time, whatever she says I'm going, "I don't know what that means." Undeniable chemistry and dark humor. I'm still fuming that they made Zack a bad guy because in less the actor wanted out of his contact, I don't see why. Favorite pairings: Bones/Booth, Angela/Hodges Buffy the Vampire Slayer: I shouldn't even have to explain why. "High school is hell," "College can be corrupted," "Growing up sucks," "Girl power can be a bad thing." I'm thrilled that their are finally Season 8 comics. Favorite pairings: Buffy/Angel, Buffy/Spike, Willow/Tara, Xander/Spike. The Closer: Kyra Sedgewick plays an AMAZING G.R.I.T.S (Girl Raised in the South). It makes me laugh, it sometimes make me cry, but I always feel like the right move was made. Cannon pairings. Criminal Minds: my new favorite guilty pleasure, because, apparently I don't watch enough crime shows as it is, I have to go and watch one about the worst criminals in society. Sometimes I blanch, sometimes I laugh, but most of the time, I have a newfound respect for the real-world profilers and agents. Pairings: Reid/Hotch, Reid/Hotch/Morgan, Reid/Hotch/Prentiss, Hotch/Prentiss, Hotch/Gideon, Gideon/Elle, Prentiss/Morgan, Prentiss/Reid, Kevin/Garcia, JJ/Will. CSI, CSI Miami, CSI NY: So I blame A&E and Spike entirely for getting me hooked on these shows, because I don't have time to watch them when they're actually on (So I'm behind two seasons practically of CSI, one and half seasons of Miami, and now two seasons behind on NY). Right now, I'm obsessed with Miami, but that was after I was obsessed about Nick/Greg fiction for awhile. I love the science, I just wish there was so more character drama sometimes. Favorite pairings: Grissom/Sara, Nick/Sara, Nick/Greg, Warrick/Catherine; Horatio/Speed, Horatio/Eric/Ryan, Eric/Calleigh, Ryan/Calleigh, Ryan/Valera, Eric/Ryan; Mac/Danny, Mac/Stella. Dark Angel: what's not to like about a story of a girl genetically engineered to kick ass? Logan/Max all the way. Dollhouse: I love this show! I love this show! Oh, how I love this show. I HATE FOX for canceling it, but what a way to go! Pairings: Ballard/November, Sierra/Victor Earth 2: a show from my childhood that was killed off before it's time. I'm just starting to watch the DVDs, but I already have ideas in my head for a crossover... Firefly: Outlaws in space! An evil government that won a bloody civil war! Cursing in Chinese! Civilization out in the Black! I never saw the show on Fox (I blame really poor advertising), but I'll never regret the 14.95 I paid. It's one of the few shows I actually got my parents to watch me. I feel like I'm constantly quoting it still. Favorite pairings: Zoe/Wash, Kaylee/Simon, Mal/Simon, Jayne/River. Fringe: JJ Abrams is a genius in my book! I really need to get caught up on the second season before I read anything. I don't want any spoilers Highlander/HL the Raven: So I actually found the shows on DVD for riddiculously cheap and am now hooked on them. I've got two different stories started based on the characters, but I have no idea if I'll actually post them here or other fansites I've found. Pairings: Duncan/Methos, Duncan/Methos/Amanda, Methos/Richie, Amanda/Nick Leverage: I can't believe how much I enjoy this show. Not much of a Nate/Sophie person or any other pairing, really, but like the team as a whole. LOST: the best character drama on TV. Period. I'm also constantly quoting the show. I can't believe that it's over, and all my questions still didn't get answered, but at least it ended with everyone living happily ever after. Sorta. Favorite pairings: Jack/Kate, Kate/Sawyer, Sawyer/Juliet, Jin/Sun, Charlie/Claire, Sayid/Shannon. Medium: I don't check up on the fanfictions posted often, but I love the show. Numb3rs: Math hasn't been so much fun in years! Yet another show I have to get caught up on. Pairings: Larry/Megan, Don/Terry, Don/Charlie (I'm truly mathematically certain that I shouldn't like those two together, but I do), Charlie/Colby Roswell: I read the books long before I saw the show. The first two seasons were intriguing, holding on to the books and yet having a life of its own. Although, some ideas were really bad (I hate the Dupes. They really should have had four other aliens, not clones, in those pods. And Alex dying. Was that really necessary?). If only I could rewrite the third season...Favorite pairings: Max/Liz, Michael/Maria, Max/Maria/Michael, Isabel/Alex, Isabel/Jesse, Isabel/Kyle (Geez, I like Isabel with everyone don't I?). Stargate SG1 and Stargate: Atlantis: I totally blame one of my closest friends for getting me hooked. I still haven't seen half on most of the seasons of either show, but that's what Netflix is for. Favorite pairings: Jack/Carter, Jack/Daniel; Shepard/Weir (I relate to them both, which sometimes gives my a split personally when I'm watching), Shepard/McKay, Ronon/Keller. Supernatural: Again with the brother dynamic, and I love Jensen Ackles from DA as Dean. Plus, sexy ghost/demon hunters? Urban legends? What did we have to bring the END of the World into the story? Favorite pairings: Dean/Sam. The Tribe: For anyone who wanted to know what it would be like with all the adults gone...here's the answer. Favorite pairings: Bray/Amber, Salene/Ryan, Lexx/Tai-San, Jack/Ellie, some Jay/Ram and Jay/Ebony. Veronica Mars: the show that portrayed the whole "high school is actually real-life" bit and made it cool to be PI. Favorite pairings: Veronica/Logan, Veronica/Weevil, Mac/Dick, Meg/Duncan. Movies What I like that I read a lot on this site: Covenant: I actually wasn't a fan of the movie. Some of the fanfiction pieces are much better than the script. As one fanfiction author I read put it, "I don't care what anyone says, those guys scream pair me together". Favorite pairings: Caleb/Reid, Caleb/Tyler, Caleb/Pogue, Chase/Tyler, Tyler/Reid. Labyrinth: another piece of my childhood. I always wanted to know what would happen after Sarah grew up. Lost Boys: Uh, rockin' vampires, anyone? Lovable, quotable. There was suppose to be a sequel. Because there wasn't (I'm not counting LOST BOYS: the Tribe a sequel) and in honor of Corey Haim,I will eventually write a sequal, even if it means re-writting the end of the movie. The boys have to come back. Favorite pairings: David/Michael, Sam/Marko, Sam/Alan. Pitched Black: one of the few movies that actually scared me the first time I saw it and was totally unique. The Chronicles of Riddick...not sure what happened there. Favorite pairing: Riddick/Jack X-Men: I have a slight obsession with psychic abilities and superhuman powers. It's on par with my whole James Marsden and Hugh Jackman obsession. The whole "mutants as representing oppressed group 'X'" alleghory isn't lost on me either. Keeps me thinking. Favorite pairings: Logan/Rogue, Jean/Scott, Scott/Jubilee, Pyro/Iceman. |
