Author has written 14 stories for Animorphs, Class of the Titans, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and X-Men. Welcome to my profile. Below, you will find a list of my stories with the appropriate links, which I hope you’ll take the time to read. In the mean time, here's some assorted stuff to explain a little about me as a person and a writer. Also, I’d like to point out now, to prevent ANY confusion: I am male. As in, XY chromosome. Just so you know. So don’t refer to me as she, her or any other female pronoun. Thank you Writing in general If a person asks me what I am, or who I’m going to be when I’m growing up, I have only one answer. A scientist. I’m not a writer at heart. I simply have things to write, and there are people that will read them. I get to remove the detritus that my imagination creates, you all get something fairly good to read, and I get that nice feeling that comes from reviews. Writing in detail I am not, despite what some may say, a great writer. I consider myself a good writer, but not great. Great writers include, to name but a few, African Titan, 4evacrazy and all the girls that make up Philia-Calliope. My stories are, normally quite short. I like to write quick oneshots, drabbles and the odd long term fic. But the type of fic I would consider to be my mainstay, my staple, if you will, are songfic-drabbles, i.e. one hundred word one shots containing one or two lines of a song. The other thing I like in my story are OC’s. There is nothing as satisfying as creating a new character that is completely yours and managing to integrate them into an existing story without them becoming a major Mary sue. Reviewing Reviewing is a big thing for me. I really don’t like to read something and enjoy it without leaving a review. I have types of reviews. If I like your story, and have time, I’ll leave a long review, explaining exactly what I liked and why. (quite often exceeding the word count of the chapter) If I like it but am in a rush, I’ll leave a quick review saying I liked it, and usually mention my favourite bit. If I didn’t like it, but I can see redeeming qualities, I’ll leave some constructive criticism saying what I thought could have been done better, but giving fair praise to the bits that deserve it. If however, your fic is rude, OOC, no care has been taken for spelling or grammar, etc, I will take great delight in pointing out every tiny little flaw and make several comments pertaining to your mental health, as well as suggesting that you find a new hobby, because obviously writing isn’t for you. Receiving reviews I love getting reviews. It’s a great feeling, reading peoples thoughts on your story. Sometimes, it’s a few words of appreciation. These, I reply with a thank you, and answer anything else they’ve brought up as best as I can Other times, it’s a long piece of prose, telling me what I did right, what went well and what didn’t. (These are my favourite kind of reviews.) These, I respond to in great length if possible. A rare few, are flames. Some people obviously don’t like my work, so they send a poorly typed insult to say so. It’s normally anonymous, but when it isn’t I’ll respond, asking them why they didn’t like it, and what they think I could have done better. None of them have ever actually replied… Plagarism If there is one thing, more then any other I hate on this site, it’s plagiarism. Stealing someone elses ideas (or worse, just copying and pasting their fic) is one of the worst crimes that you can commit. People work hard on their stories, they don’t need, want or deserve to be copied. List of OCs As I said before, OC’s are a big thing for me. COTT The British Adventure Robby: Descendant of Robin Hood, a child of the aristocracy (son of the Earl of Locksley) Robby is a socialist. He always hated his fathers position and privilege. When he learned the truth about his ancestry and his mission, he didn’t hesitate. He’s an incredible archer and an incorrigible flirt, but in reality he has eyes only for Merla. Not that she knows. His hobbies include “redistributing wealth” from the rich to the poor, and playing acoustic guitar. Merla: Descendant of Merlin, Merla is a middle class girl who never wanted to be anything special, but just wanted to live a comfortable life. When she and her boyfriend found out they were the descendants of Merlin and Arthur respectively, they felt the had no choice but to follow their destiny. Tragically, Arthurs life was cut short in their first mission, and Merla was left in the company of 3 strangers. Her style is heavily dominated by black, and is what most would call a gothic, and doesn’t smile often. Beau: Beau is, well, Scottish. The descendant of Boudicca, she’s got a mean attitude towards her enemies, and a weird set of tastebuds. Armed with only her ancestors’ sword, she is always the first to dive into battle, and usually the last to finish. At the same time, she is a very spiritual girl, a strong Christian who derives emotional strength from her faith. She sometimes finds this hard to square with her circumstances, and the polytheistic nature of the mystical world. Owen: A working class boy from Wales, Owen is the most even tempered of the group, and is often the one to mediate the teams many disputes. At the same time, he is an afficionado of practical jokes and comedy sketches, often quoting John Cleese, his “hero.” Like his ancestor, Owain the Green Night, Owen is literally immortal in battle. No cut will harm him and dismemberment only serves to pee him off. Unfortunately, he is suffering from terminal lung cancer brought on by his fathers exposure to certain gases while mining coal in the 70s. He sees the mission his destiny has led him to be his last chance to make a difference in the world. Child Of The Sun Artie: Artie is a halfblood, a son of Apollo. Due to the development of OCD in his early childhood, leading to obsessive study and training, he was never diagnosed with ADHD or dyslexia. As a result, he was missed by both the satyrs AND the monsters. At a young age, he was given a staff by Chiron (who was in disguise at the time) made of Hesperidian wood, which he would later discover had the ability to transform into a bow. When his mother died of cancer, he followed her dying instructions to go to camp half blood and arrived, more or less, intact. Artie’s hours of training with his staff have given him hand to hand combat skills above a typical son of Apollo, and his instincts often seem sharper. He is now on a quest with Katrina to recover a mystical item that will restore the health of the dying Oracle. Kat: Abandoned as a baby at camp Half blood, Kat has fought for almost her whole life. Unclaimed for most of her life, she focused mainly on her combat skills, and her climbing and running abilities, though her counselors did often note she had an affinity with caring for plants. Finally, she was claimed by Demeter, after a rather creative use of her growing talents at controlling plants. (She made an apple seed start growing INSIDE an Ares campers digestive tract.) Since then, she has become the misfit of the Demeter cabin, preferring fighting and weapons training to the gardening and nature skills her cabin is famous for. Her years unclaimed, hearing the stories about famous quests throughout the ages has given her a thirst for glory that quite often leads her to reject help in favour of attacking problems on her own. General Class of the Titans Fics Sarah: Sarah is, or rather was, Archie’s girlfriend at the age of 14. Unfortunately, her life was cut short in a sailing race, by a boat that had lost control and crashed into hers and Archie’s boat. His inability to save her eventually led to his running away from home, and his trademark silence on his origins. Her story is mentioned in many fics, but particularly Of History and Painful Memories Exams Exams are evil. They eat up your time, kill your routine, destroy your creativity and lead to an excess of stress and an inevitable avalanche of printed out past papers. As a result, while exams are going on, don’t expect many updates. Friends on Fanfiction I have quite a few friends on this site, in quite a few fandoms. But my best have to be: Ellen 26, my very best friend and utterly bizzare human being (she must be, she puts up with me), African Titan, who’s writing is self esteem destroying at times and possesses one of the best senses of humour and tolerance I have ever had the fortune to encounter, Sistergrimm2, who is touchingly insane in a good way (mostly) and of course, Dazzeling Diamond, who is one of the nicest people and best writers I know. Fandoms I’ve written for a few fandoms in my time and reviewed for others. The first was Animorphs. I hung around for a while, but eventually I got tired of the same old plot being rehashed constantly (Ellimist resurrects Rachel post 54, then jake falls in love with cassie, tobias miraculously restores his humanity and they all live happily ever after) , while the few original plots were ignored. Meanwhile, the PJO fandom was full of diverging stories, but too many of them were about OC’s that became little more then Mary Sue’s, terrible romance onsehots that disintegrated into slagging off Rachel Dare. I tried Harry Potter, but there were just too many fics to become involved heavily. It was just too big. That isn’t to say that I don’t still visit these fandoms occasionally. But I can’t really feel at home there. The only Fandom I feel at home is the COTT fandom. The writers there are fresh, original, pay great attention to punctuation and plot holes, review deeply and you can be sure of making friends. And if someone rips you off, the fandom will get your back. It’s a pleasure to write and read in, hence my creation of an awards system for COTT writers. That’s basically all I have to say, so all that’s left for you to do, is to read my stories Life is no more important then Writers' Writing~ Kaddisfly: A Message to the flat Earth society. |
