![]() Author has written 6 stories for Twilight. I came to Twilight reluctantly, to say the least. I was aware the popularity of the books and their rabid fan base, but I refused to give in to the hype. Supernatural teen romance? Definitely not for me. I only read 'important' books, after all (Yeah, right). I resisted the lure for a very long time, until . . . on a tedious transatlantic flight, I succumbed. I watched Twilight because it was the only film that I hadn't seen and there were six more hours to kill before landing. I had to admit that it was better than I thought it would be. The dialogue was wooden, the acting mediocre, but the story was charming--and exciting! It must've crossed some wires in my brain too, because the very next week I found myself buying a copy of the book and surreptitiously tucking it into my jacket, just in case any of my colleagues from the English Department saw me. Like Bella, I fell under Edward's spell. Completely and absolutely. I adored Twilight and New Moon; I devoured them both in days. But I was disappointed with what came next. I had a very hard time finishing Breaking Dawn; actually, I nearly threw it out the window a couple of times. Suffice to say, you'll never read a story about the wolf-boy or the freak-baby written by me. But Edward just would not leave my head! He's the heart of Twilight for me and he's the reason I'm writing again after a creative drought of many years. FOX FIRE is my labour of love. The story was born before I learned about Midnight Sun. I almost abandoned it after reading the "First Sight" character development on Stephenie Meyer's website, but I'm very glad that I didn't. I've grown to adore "Edward-in-My-Head". Thanks to MsRason for the beautiful banner. It's also on her blog. *June 2011* - Fox Fire was nominated for an Eternity Award. ("The Meadow Award/Best Edward Bella Moment") *UPDATE 10/8/15: Chapter 37, "Tranquil", has now been posted. Thank you, gentle readers for your patience these last long months.* SERIES & ONE-SHOTS: COUNTERPOINTS is an accompanying series of outtakes and alternate POVs from Fox Fire. A CARTON OF MILK won Readers' Choice in "The Life and Times of Bree Tanner" challenge (July 2010). This one-shot was my first attempt at a writing challenge and I was thrilled it was so well-received. ATOMIK, another one-shot, was originally a chapter from Fox Fire. It didn't work with the storyline, but I loved the dialogue so much that I couldn't bear to scrap it. MIDWINTER is a series of vignettes that allow me to indulge my obsession with Edward's dark years during the Depression. Some of them have been with me the entire time I've been writing Fox Fire. They'll find their place here, eventually. LULUBELLA is a character sketch--a snapshot of sixteen-year-old Bella while she was still living in Phoenix. It was written for the Pre-Twilight round of the Canon Tour. ABOUT ME: "I have spent most of the day putting in a comma and the rest of the day taking it out." Oscar Wilde Some days--actually, most days--writing really is like that for me. It's not always Evil Real Life that gets in my way; I am my harshest critic. I won't post a chapter if I'm not happy with it, so please be patient if I'm slow to update. My stories are also on AO3. As well as writing EPOV fiction, I write non-fiction for newsletters, magazines, and online publications in my real life. I'm inspired by prose and poetry from the 17th century to the present, and by the rugged mountain scenery of my home in western Canada. Best Books Best Poets Best Quotes Best Friend |
