She corners him in the woods and they bond, become awesome friends and break a curse. Not necessarily in that order.

SPOILERS 3x18 "Rumpelstiltskin knew where I'd keep my heart because he knew something about me that you do not," she says at last. "And what's that?" She runs her fingers over the mark, still looking at his arm, and not his face. "He knew about this." Regina tells Robin something she once thought would change everything, but only confirms what they knew in their hearts.
