delicious premise, great start, but all too soon decays into "basic op mc" harem male-wish-fulfillment. plenty of potential for au:s and fanfiction where the entirety of the female cast is not marginalized for a chance.

low magic quasi medieval setting, muskets had just been invented and warfare is adapting to it. the only real source of fantasy is the royal family's powerful bodies. enjoyable read, if a bit simple at times.

a corporate sociopath is reincarnated as a loli to world where magic exist. mc is also a neckbeard-type atheist that denies god when the higher power is literally standing there. hi-jinks ensue when mc drafts themselves into the warmachine and tries to apply his knowledge of eastern corporate etiquette and work ethic there.

moderately magical setting. cast are cadets (i think?) in the military of an empire, and they wage war / fight skirmishes against a nearby republic. magic is only possible through the spirits that bond to humans, and even then a bit simple. simplicity soon gives way to innovation, however.

warlock of the magus world by wen chao gong / "the plagiarist"
a chinese man is reincarnated into the corpse of a prospective magus, in the middle of their journey to a camp where they would be evaluated and then distributed to various academies. mc reincarnates with his sci-fi a.i.-chip implant somehow having hitched the ride on his soul, and exploits his symbiotic computer to great effect. mc is a bit of a chinese stereotype though, and many of the much foreshadowed plans turn out somewhat simple; all of which in my opinion made up for with the depth and detail of the magic system.

the world waits on evil draconic runes, gathered here because nowhere else for some reason. applied before the object is 'finished', in pottery before the object fired, metal cookware before it's been used a few times and had absorbed fat, stitched cloths before half the stitches are in, woven cloths before the weave is completed. I vividly remember reading that a weapon would be finished after it has first tasted blood in battle, but could not find written verification for that from the text itself.

runes with observed effects

-robust, health, durable, 'armored plate': enchanted with paste made of wood oils, powdered serpent liver (vampire waste fed chicken liver works), iron filings, ground up live plucked horse hair bulbs and papilla (preserved result works), and soils of particular quality, then covered with a cloth soaked in the same oils, and a gold thread weave, and finally set with a gemstone; only the paste is consumed in process. the rune makes things harder and more durable.

-'perfection'; apex predator: better at fighting, better at and with a tendency for violence. combined with fate made for a skeleton that could not be defeated in battle.

-accuracy: more accurate, better at following direction/orders. combined with fate made for a nearly prescient skeleton that could stack grains of sand behind a wall from 16 paces.

-magic: makes something magical, but often lacks the strength to accomplish anything of note on its own. grants a magical limb to a skeleton when combined with fate, generates a mirroring barrier surface against foreign magical limbs over the souls of a skeleton when combined with robust and fate. it is possible to use skeleton enchanted with magic to cast spells by feeding your own magical limb through them, but it is not clear how exactly this is done.

-silence/stealth: this rune means both of these, and the runic script has no runes for either alone. makes things more able to move silently and without notice, combined with fate made for a skeleton that could not be seen, heard, or be properly noticed even if it bumped into you.

-flight: makes something faster, most likely also lighter. combined with fate on a single heel on a skeleton, it floated god knows where held up by its heel, combined with fate on a whole skeleton, made it able to move at insane speeds.

-'fate', 'significance'; chosen one(s): this enchantment improves any other enchantment on the same object by an absurd degree inversely scaling with the number of identical enchantments in existence, and the effect can't be strengthened by reducing the number unless all articles manufactured at the same time are destroyed.

-'third soul'; soul of undeath: this rune does nothing alone, but causes other runes to affect the second soul, or control soul, of skeletons. Liches and vampires lack this second soul as the changes to their own make up for the lack of it, but one can be attached to lich's skeletal body. known as the third soul because it is created by the soul of the necromancer to be attached into the soul-connection, and with it the deceased soul, of the skeleton.

-crossroads: effect unclear, combined with fate and third soul seems to group a bunch of the third souls within a single entity, making mass control easier, and making it impossible to seize control of any single third soul without access to the central hub.

-road: effect unclear, combined with third soul, extends the range to which a necromancer can control a skeleton, even ignoring physical barriers.

-gate to plane of fire: formed of copper wire worked into steel (presumably), opens a gate portal to the plane of fire for so long as the object can survive the constant explosion doing so entails.

-protection, scale: creates a basic magical shield with the barest intent, a hoop for example generates this shield into the disc of space it circles, and two hoops could be joined to create a cylinder.

note on rune interaction
a skeletal dragon (not a dracolich), enchanted with fate-robust-magic-third soul-crossroads in an unspecified pattern, was able to cast magic on its own, still had access to its "breath weapon", and had two glowing wisps set into its eyes. it is heavily implied that the eyes are a result of the runic enchantment, but their exact function is not detailed. the fact that the dragon could cast its own spells is a bit surprising because it is implied a human skeleton could not without the specific spells being inscribed on it, which the dragon lacked. attempting to magically "scan" the dragon causes the offending magical limb to mirror into itself (mentioned under magic rune), and if the specific means to bypass that effect is employed it reveals the dragons own soul(s), as well as those subordinated to it (mentioned under crossroads rune), which were described as trembling as if at the precipice of the reanimation spell being completed, most likely due to being held to dragon's soul rather than their own skeletons souls.
