The world of Remnant is dominated by monsters in the woods and feudal kings ruling from palaces. Jaune Arc, the son of a lowly blacksmith, has been caught in the middle of this world. He yearns for the chance to become a knight, but his father forbids it. He only has one option left to him. Take his silver sword and carve a path through anybody who stands in his way.

As a vampire, Ruby Rose depended on the blood of others to sustain herself. There was only one problem. She hated blood. There very sight of it made her queasy. Some vampire she was! But Ruby needed to eat to survive. So when it came time to feed, and her prey lay sleeping in his bed, she hesitated. Until the young blond boy finally woke up, and wondered just what was going on.

Jaune Arc was moping about his girl troubles once again. Not entirely unusual for the boy as it was something to pass the time. But an encounter with a mysterious stranger left that as the least of his worries in the upcoming weeks. Before long, Jaune was going to become the very monster men had feared for centuries.

After months of being her teammate, Jaune thought there was nothing Nora could ever do that would surprise him. That was until she sat down next to him on his bed and held her scroll in between them. Ruby Rose had an unorthodox way of defining friendship. Such things included in her bag of goodies was a friendship contract, a coupon book, trips to the Dust store, the occasional board game night where said cinnamon bun was a sore loser, an unfair game of tag, one-sided friend privileges, and much more. Why didn't Jaune Arc read the fine print? Stop laughing, Yang!

They weren't lovers. They certainly weren't friends. At best, they qualified as acquaintances. However, one crazy night changes all of that. Pretending it didn't happen would have been the smart choice. Unfortunately, neither Blake nor Jaune is all that good at making smart choices.

What started as an innocent game between Jaune Arc and Yang Xiao Long quickly grew in depravity the longer they played. Both were too boneheaded to quit, so boundaries broke to one-up the other. Soft lips tipped the scales. A touch of skin drove them mad. An audience raised the stakes. However, common sense flew out the window when playing alone. "Oops, my finger slipped."

When Ruby confronts Jaune about his suicidal actions against Cinder, she accidentally locks them in their house's boiler room. With the temperature rising, and boredom rapidly settling in, she decides to give Jaune a lesson on proper firearm maintenance.

Ruby Rose was the one to open the door to Jaune Arc's musical solo, not Weiss Schnee, and as a quick-thinking, rolls off the tongue kind of leader, he improvised and made his song about her instead. Little did he know the milk-loving, cinnamon roll leader of Team RWBY was a sucker for chivalry and noodles. Not to mention Yang Xiao Long just loved playing matchmaker.

Jaune Arc, Field Agent of the VSS - Vale's Secret Service, or at least that's what he's been told. All he knows is that they found out about his faked transcripts, and now he works in the interests of the Kingdom. With terrorists on the horizon, not to mention a shady organisation and an even shadier group operating under Ozpin, what's a bumbling teen turned secret agent to do?

Outside of being a loyal companion and trustworthy friend, Yang Xiao Long hardly thought much of Jaune Arc. He was a noodle. She liked him. He was nice. Simple and easy! So, why did he have to throw the whole status quo into whack by getting some ridiculous haircut and not shaving for a week? What? No! He didn't look or acted like a younger version of dad! Stop saying that, Ruby!

After the battle of Haven, everyone involved needed some downtime to themselves to recover from the fight. But some consequences are better handled together than alone...

To everyone else Jaune and Blake weren't friends. Just people who happened to sit at the same table for months on end and yet never spoke a word to one another. Blake was always busy with her team and Jaune with his or to a lesser extent Ruby when he wasn't crushing on Weiss. That was good. That was what they wanted you to think because if anyone ever found out their dirty secret..
