Author has written 4 stories for Ella Enchanted, Redwall, and Harry Potter. What I wrote here before was so old that it was embarrassing, so here's the new me... One factor that hasn't changed is my name... it's still Allison, and I still love to write, though lately my efforts have been directed towards my english class and the wonderful Mr. Stratton, rather than my fanfiction and original stories. I'm a junior in high school, and was 16 as of May 2007, but unfortunately I still only have my temps. I run cross country country in the fall (which is my favorite season), and am an active member of my school Drama Club the rest of the year, participating in the class plays, one-acts, and musical. I am also passionate about band and jazz band, playing flute and piano, respectively, and I also love learning Japanese. My ideal evening is a stormy, autumn night in which I have nothing to do except curl up in an armchair with a blanket, book, and bowl of popcorn cooked on the stove and read until I fall asleep. I love spending time outdoors by myself, and my favorite place to be is my grandpa's summer camp in New Hampshire, where there is a lake and lots of blueberry bushes. :) I'm a procrastinator by nature, which is why I've gone a year and a half without posting a new chapter, but I have been working on my stories a little bit at a time. One of my goals in life is to publish a book... another is to go 'up' a 'down' escalotor, and vice versa. My favorite movies are Lord of the Rings, Princess Bride, Mulan, Ratatouille, Phantom of the Opera, The Ten Commandments, It's A Wonderful Life, and Step-Up. My favorite books include, but are not limited to, Ella Enchanted (obviously), Anne of Green Gables (and all the sequels), To Kill a Mockingbird, The Princess Bride, His Dark Materials ('The Golden Compass' moview is coming out December 7th!!!), Ender's Game, Ender's Shadow, Speaker for the Dead, Xenocide, anything else by Orson Scott Card (for the most part... Treasure Box was pretty strange), books by Gerald Morris, especially The Savage Damsel and the Dwarf, as well as The Squire, His Knight, and His Lady, all of the Narnia series, especially The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and The Last Battle, and books by Tamora Pierce. My favorite quotes are ones that either make me laugh, or make me think. "Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them, and you have their shoes." "I am an individual, completely unique. A composite of everything and everyone that has every touched my life. And though I will not change for you, I cannot be with you without being changed by you." ~Javan "Love is a feeling you feel when you feel you are feeling a feeling you have never felt before." "You gotta have a mind to lose it." "I wish my grass were emo so it would cut itself." "Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man stupid and blind in the eyes." ~Ender's Game "The recorder's on, it's always on, your ass is covered, go to hell." ~Ender's Game "They were on top of the hill of Villejuif, from which Paris, spread out like a dark sea below, agitates its millions of lights like phosphorescent waves; waves more tumultuous, more seething, more furious than those of the angry ocean, waves which never know calm like those of the vast sea, waves forever clashing, forever foaming, forever engulfing..." ~The Count of Monte Cristo "There is neither happiness nor unhappiness in this world; there is only the comparison of one state with another. Only a man who has felt ultimate despair is capable of feeling ultimate bliss. It is necessary to have wished for death, Maximilien, in order to know how good it is to live." ~The Count of Monte Cristo "When there's no one in front of you, you're first. When there's no one behind you, you're last. When there's no one in front or behind you, you're lost." "Have you ever stood at the edge of a great wood on a high ridge when a wild southwester broke over it in full fury on an autumn evening?" ~Prince Caspian "For the most part they quenched their thirst with deep drafts of mingled dew and rain, flavored with forest flowers and the airy taste of the thinnest clouds." ~Prince Caspian ""Sisters don't have sex lives. And I'll die from traumatization if anyone tells me otherwise." "Sing as though no one can hear you. Dance as though no one can see you. Love as though you have never been hurt before. Live as though heaven is on earth." "When you stop dreamin', it's time to die." "What is it with men and asking for directions?" "You know you've been stippling too much when you call a staple a stiple!" ~Zafi Ahmed "For goodness sakes, Abby, stop licking me!" "There are two kinds of people in this world: those who divide the world into two kinds of people, and those who don't." "There are no stupid questions, only stupid people." ~Dorton, my 7th grade science teacher "Two wrongs don't make a right, but three lefts make a right, and two Wrights make an airplane." ~Dorton "I have to tell you something... dinosaurs are homosexual! And they're in a relationship!" ~Katie D. "I wished I could spend the rest of my life as a child, being slightly crushed by someone who loved me." "Life's for livin', yeah, that's our philosophy." "Fill the arc with water... sink it into silence." ~The Ten Commandments I still want to learn Lord of the Rings elvish. ~live, love, and laugh~ |
