![]() Hello my friends! Glad you were bored enough to pop in and view my profile! Name: Amanda. Location: Illinois, USA. Age: 27. I can't believe I've been on this site since I was 15... Random tidbits: - I played clarinet for 10 years, and I taught myself how to play piano. - I have two dogs, one of whom I named after a character from a movie that I have never seen before. I also have two degus, named Momo and Appa after two characters from one of my favorite shows. - I am mostly Norwegian and Native American, but that only accounts for half of me. Also, I am extremely interested in heritage and culture. - Crazy, unexplicable dreams are a nightly ritual of my subconscious. - I love nighttime, but am scared of the dark and completely fail at driving at night. - I want to live somewhere in the West someday. Preferably Colorado, Wyoming, or Montana. - You know those people who never knew what they wanted to do with their life? Yeah, that's me. I have my degree and I still have no clue. - I am a certified scuba diver. - I love being able to see the stars at night, so I will be disappointed if I have to move to a city someday. - I've taken five years of Spanish, and I still feel like a complete dunce when trying to speak it. - It would be really awesome to meet Hugo Weaving. - Mythology is a strange fascination of mine. - Probably one of the prettiest landscapes I have ever seen was two power plants at night. One had gold lights, the other silver. - My hair is super thick and grows twice as fast as normal hair should. - I love being creative in my everyday life. Favorites (Or basically anything I love and could watch, play, or read a lot.): Shows: Avatar: The Last Airbender, Heroes, Smallville, Leverage, Samurai Jack, Family Guy, House M.D., CSI: Las Vegas, Futurama, Sailor Moon, Escaflowne, The Big Bang Theory, Hana Yori Dango, Teen Titans, Law and Order: SVU, Tom and Jerry, X-Men Evolution, Beauty and the Beast, NCIS, Cowboy Bebop, Criminal Minds, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Psych, Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, Monk, Static Shock, That '70s Show, Justice League, 1 Litre of Tears, Inuyasha, Looney Tunes, and basically any cartoon from the 80s and 90s since the majority of shows for kids these days absolutely suck. Movies: Way too many to put here. Basically anything from 12 Angry Men to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon to Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Oh, and anything with superheroes. Except Watchmen. Games: Kingdom Hearts I and II, X-men Legends I and II (love Jean Grey and Storm!), Dragon Age, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (Ms. Marvel, Thor, and Invisible Woman are fun!), Sonic 3, Super Mario 64, Assassin's Creed, Final Fantasy games, Dance Dance Revolution, Army of Two, Tony Hawk games (especially Underground 1 and 2), Kirby 64, Guitar Hero, SuperSmash Bros. Melee and Brawl (go Sheik and Zelda!), Mass Effect, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Halo, Zelda games, Brute Force, and Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 (favorite team is Supreme Kai, Android 18, Teen Gohan, Piccolo, and Trunks). Books: Tithe, Valiant, Ironside, Sold, Lock and Key, The Giver, The Lovely Bones, The Greatest Knight, The Catcher in the Rye, A Midsummer Night's Dream, my Inuyasha manga, The Kidnapping of Christina Lattimore, Pirates!, Perfect Chemistry, Chinese Cinderella, Speak, Elsewhere, Witch Child, To Kill a Mockingbird, Tell No One, Of Beetles and Angels, Twilight series, Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment, Yossel, Cry of the Icemark, trivia books, Mergers, The Iliad, Countdown, The Body of Christopher Creed, The Chronicles of Narnia, Egyptology, A Great and Terrible Beauty, my collection of Garfield comics, Copper Sun, Heir Apparent, joke books, Johnny Tremain, A Certain Slant of Light, anything that can further help me learn (mainly books on animals and astronomy), mythology books, A Child Called 'IT', Tangerine, Where The Sidewalk Ends, Touching Spirit Bear, Animorphs books, and Faerie Wars. And my favorite short stories from junior high and high school were Harrison Bergeron, The Cask of Amontillado, The Most Dangerous Game, and The Cold Equations. Now that I think about it, they're all stories where someone dies... I'm pretty sadistic, huh? Other Random Favorites: Colors: Blue and green are tied for first, followed by purple and white tied for second. Animals: Foxes and giraffes. Genre of music: Almost anything, really. Subject in school: It has varied throughout my life, seriously. At this point it's anything dealing with sociology and graphic design. History was my major, but it has slowly developed into a graphic design major. Tidbit: When I was in second grade, I wanted to be a paleontologist for the sole reason being that I could actually spell it. Cartoon characters: Oh, this one is hard. I'll just pick my favorites from some of the shows I listed. Sokka from Avatar, Sailor Neptune from Sailor Moon, Raven from Teen Titans (Yeah yeah, I know everyone picks her. I just really don't like Starfire.), Android 18 and Trunks from DBZ (Every time I watch Trunks episodes, it reminds me of the Terminator story), Van from Escaflowne, Sango and Kirara from Inuyasha, Samurai Jack from Samurai Jack (he's basically the only recurring character from that show anyways, besides Aku), Wonder Woman and Green Lantern from Justice League, and Nightcrawler and Storm from X-Men. Planet(?): Saturn! It's so pretty =) And definitely Pluto, because I don't care what those crazy scientists believe. About FanFiction: The more I sift through stories, the more I see which sort of plots, and the pairings involved in them, I prefer. I tend to like combinations of adventure, humor, and romance, though not so much humor that it gets silly and distracting from the story. When it comes to pairings, I seem to like ones that aren't canon. Examples: Raven and Robin in Teen Titans (I used to like Raven and Beast Boy, but then I thought about it, and I came to the conclusion that it would be weird); Nightcrawler and Shadowcat in X-Men (I'm not really into the Rogue and Remy thing. Yeah, I guess it would make sense for them to be together because... they're both from the south? Whenever I read stories about them, their relationship seems to only revolve around sex.); Katara and Zuko in Avatar: The Last Airbender (though I am warming up to Mai and Zuko), and Sessho(u?)maru and Kagome in Inuyasha (because I believe that sometimes Inuyasha is too obsessed with Kikyo to get serious with Kagome). If you (anyone who managed to find and be bored enough to read this profile) ever want to discuss any of these things, or just want to talk, feel free to send me a message! I don't bite. ;) And I seriously need to update my favorite fanfiction stories... X.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.x.X |
