![]() Author has written 2 stories for Kingdom Hearts, and Naruto. - - - Name: Just call me lazy! Things in fics which disappoint me: Original Characters: who are main characters and/or Mary-Sues (details below). OOC: It's ok, but to a certain extent. Don't change a character completely. It totally ruins the story and does not stick to the original plot. What really ticks me off, though, unless the plot overrides it, is when a character is made out to be the villian and/or a bitch just because that certain author doesn't like him/her. Only one story, thus far, has been the exception. Sepiroth's Guide to Love and Deception by KamirineGodess. A MUST READ!! People Whom Deny Their OCs Are NOT Mary-Sues: Ok listen closely here: A Mary-Sue is an OC who is portrayed in an idealized way and who is generally lacking in any truly noteworthy flaws (or having her flaws romanticized). In other words, he/she can have no flaws or too many (ie. tragic past like a family massacre). An OC is a Mary-Sue when displaying one or more of the following characteristics: #1: Exceptional physical and personal characteristics (ie. an unusual and, typically, tragic backgrounds). #2: Uncommon eye or haircolors or come from a race or species which is uncommon or unknown in the story’s setting, such as half elf/half witch. #3: Exotic names, pets, or possessions, often ones with great perceived mystical or magical significance. #4: They frequently share hobbies, likes and dislikes, and opinions with the author, and may be of the same nationalityor age as the author and have similar but more dramatic physical appearances or backgrounds; other times, they may merely have hobbies or features that the author finds exotic, high-class or somehow admirable. Basically, a mirror image of what an author is like or wishes to be. #5: Mary-Sues tend to usually mock and humiliate characters the author dislikes, yet overromanticize those authors like. #6: Mary Sues may bring together characters the author thinks should be romantically involved with one another or become romantically involved with characters to whom the author is attracted. #7: THE MAIN CHARACTER OF THE FANFIC! (This is a big one. If the story is under the Naruto category, that means that the characters of the anime are the main ones in fanfics). If you OC has ANY of these characteristics and more, then he/she is most definitly a Mary-Sue and you should just admit it and fix it. Constructive Criticism is should be appreciated. Grammar: Yes I am a grammar Nazi and I also realize that people make mistakes (and miss them as well). However, run-on sentences, paragraphs smashed together, incorrect sentence structure, etc. are big no-nos for me. Something as simple as those mentioned should not be missed. If you need help, I'm sure there are BETA readers around who are willing to assist you. QUOTES "I think the human race needs to think about killing. How much evil must we do to do good?" "Whoever stands by a just cause cannot possibly be called a terrorist" "All that is neccessary for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing" "It is easy to take liberty for granted, when you have never had it taken from you" "Todo hombre es como la Luna: con una cara oscura que a nadia ensena" Favorite Anime: Favorite Couples: I actually have many, though the majority of them fall under the Yaoi category. My numero 1 couple is Zemyx! The Zemyx coupling just never bores me and feels right and complete one another. I just can't get enough of this couple and with great authors out there, such as Dualism or ShadowAili, it's no wonder. Their fics are unbelievably awesome and they continue to awe me...and they have inspired me to write my own Zemyx fics. However, I will not forget ItaNaru, as that was my first couple in Yaoi and what brought me to broaden my horizens in fanfiction. Mi numero dos es USUK aka Alfred/Arthur from Axis Powers Hetalia. I recently started on this after finding out Ulquiorra's seiyu, Daisuke Namikawa, is Italy (Feliciano). Henyway, I fell in like (yes like) with the Alfred/Arthur after reading one of the strips where both were stuck on an island (with France, China, and Russia) and America was staring at England. And then I saw a doujinshi that played on that strip and I was like..."awww!" Tsunadare England is my favorite. Last but certainly not the least, is GrimmUlqui (Grimmjow Jaggerjaques and Ulquiorra Schiffer). I think some of it might have to do with the fact that I love both characters. I've always been fascinated with couples where the Seme and Uke argue...make-up sex must be great, but I digress. Their interaction just fascinates me, since Ulquiorra has little facial expressions he looks so moe when he and Grimmjow talk and Grimmy gets annoyed with his faceless face (:p). Least Favorite: Extra Note: I'm sorry haven't written or edited anything, but I have been really busy with college. I will try to asap when I have time. I am a Woman. I am an American AND Mexican. I am a Christian. I am a Moderate-Conservative Democrat. I am a sister, daughter, and friend. I am a character. JOIN THE PLEDGE!! Stop discrimination. "WE ARE ALL IMMIGRANTS!" |
