03/22/06: MobiusRPand its users(of which I will not name, but describe.)

Well, I just so happen to be a member on this site. I go by the nick Comic Hunter(former nick skullhand), but I'm mostly known asEmerl, seeing I'm the one who plays as him. MobiusRP isa Sonic the Hedgehog-based roleplay. For those who don't know what I'm what talking about, its basically a text based roleplay played out by many users. Most people have OCs(hardly anyMary-Sues, recolors, or stuff like that), and a few have FCs(characters made by Sonic Team). I'm pretty much a semi-newb there, since I'm not n00bish or completely clueless, try to act mature(with a goofy tone), neutral, and positive,but have only been there for 9 months.

Let's talk about the rp itself. The ongoing storyline take place 9 years after Sonic Adventure 2, and most FCs are older(and in some cases, the player either makes the character better than their game self, but most make them as punching bags for OCs). Most scenes, as they are called, involve two or more characters meeting and either fighting, talking, etc. Just as long as you don't powergame, you'll have a nice time. When the RP is OOC(out of character), the room can be used as a chatroom. You can do whatever you want, as long as you follow a few rules. GMs will ensure order, and if needed, will kick or even ban a user from the room. So no acting n00bish, spamming, flaming, or ticking GMs off.

Most of the people are pretty nice, espicially the newbs(not noobs or n00bs) and female users. Even the GMs areveryhelpful and cool. Some users, mostly oldbies/veteran players, are jerks,mostly to newbies like myself. If they have their fun, they are nice(there is about one or two exceptions, but I'll not name him/them), but if you have alot of fun chatting or even slightly tick them off, they're buttheads. I once had pretty funny conversation with chatroom buddies of mine when some oldbie with problemsasks a GM to mute the channel, which the GM does without warning. If I were a GM, I'd just tell the oldbie to shut up and deal with it and his/her own problems, and give the people making him/her mad to tone it down. But no, the oldbie wins. My advice would be to talk to andmess around withnewbs and female users,show the GMs that you're matureyet nice,and avoid older male users, unless you want them to act like a bastard until a GM mutes the channel or kicks you out. The Admin, thank the lord, is a VERY cool guy. His name is Toby.

One thing I'll never understand is why the guy who plays as Shadow the Hedgehog(an oldbie, no less)considers Shadow the Hedgehog(the video game) not canon. I swear, that whole arguement is old, mostly resolved,and pretty n00bish. Worst yet, its like everyone agrees with him. I once talked about how the game is canon in the forums, like it or not, but he acts all extremist and acts like "My opinion is all that matters, and yours is crap". AND the bloomin' topic gets locked. Just what we needed, an extremist that messed up his character, which is just another person out of millions of fans who made Shadow apoor pathetic sap instead of the cool, angsty anti-hero we all like.Oh well,the guy has his own opinion that he'll fight to the death for to prove that its supreme. So, no submitting a Black Doom character bio, or it will be mutilated, extremist style. I swear, the whole "Black Doom is teh suck LOLERZ" crap is making fans turn into a bunch of (bigger)retards. Oh, and there is a character who's -gasp-Shadow's and Amy's daughter(despite the unlikelyhood that Shadow is even capable of procreation or love), Shadow and Amy are married, and any Archie characters have been dramatically changed to the point where its insane. Also, despite claiming to be devoted to the game canon, MobiusRP has echidna OCs(despite having Knuckles as the LAST surviving member of the echidna race in the games) and, of course, the Shadow the Hedgehog bullcrap.

The website includes forums where you can rant, debate, discuss, whatever. Just don't flame. Or tick off oldbies and GMs.

So, if you're a Sonic fan who doesn't mind OCs enteracting with canon characters and OCs, a somewhataltered canon, and wants to have a good time with buddies and ticking off extremists on the forums, then look no further than MobiusRP.

That's my rant. If any of you people are offended, well, too bad. I won't change it. Unless you give me all of your money. :-)
