Update: Yeah, it's been a long time since I was anything close to active in fandom. I've begun posting a few things that I wrote a long time ago but never published (the ones that aren't embarrassingly terrible, anyway), but I don't know if I'll be writing new fanfiction any time soon. Probably not, to be honest. If I do, it would probably be Animorphs fanfiction, since that's the only fandom I'm really into at the moment. But who knows? Maybe the Artemis Fowl fandom will seem fresh and wonderful to me again someday. We'll see.

Artemis Fowl fandom things I've been involved in:

The Orion Awards: A set of annual awards for the best fics in the fandom (winners determined by judging), along with the People's Choice Awards (winners determined by popular vote). The nominated fics are in the ff.net c2 community. Now defunct.

Also, the Orion forum, a fun place for all fans of Artemis Fowl, fanfiction, and writing (not just those involved in the Orion Awards). Now mostly dead.

The Observatory: A fanzine about fanfiction, writing, and of course Artemis Fowl. Run by some of the Orion staff. Now defunct.

Criminality: An archive of AF fics that are well worth reading. If you’re interested in improving your writing, check out the Criminality fic challenges (now defunct). Crim and its forum have now merged with Orion.

Quality Artemis Fowl Fanfiction: My C2 community. It archives, obviously, quality fanfiction in the AF fandom. Only completed fics are accepted. If you want to suggest a fic to be added, or if you have any questions/comments, just post in the forums or send me a ff.net PM.

About me:

I’ve been in the Artemis Fowl fandom since September 2003. I support promoting good AF fanfiction (OA, Crim, QAFF).

Recently (as in, over the past few years), I've become less and less active in fandom. I've pretty much stopped reviewing, except for fics that are at least decent where I know the author will take the advice to heart. And I barely read anything other than my tried-and-true favourite authors.

When I review, I'm...thorough or obsessive, depending on how you look at it. =P I put thought and effort into providing detailed feedback, and it frustrates me when this goes to waste on an immature ingrate who doesn't know the difference between a flame and constructive criticism. Please know that if I take the time to review your fic I do like some of what you have written and I want to help you improve.

I can't promise anymore that I'll review everyone who reviews me. Rather, I plan to review everyone who reviews me with concrit. It means the world to me when someone explains what s/he liked or disliked rather than just saying "Yay" or "Boo," and people who provide thoughtful feedback deserve to receive the same from me. Otherwise, thanks for the review, but don't expect anything in return.

All of you who continue to offer and accept concrit, my hat is off to you. Keep fighting the good fight, mates.
