![]() Author has written 1 story for Jak and Daxter. Hello, friends! IT worker by day, fanfiction and original fantasy/sci-fi author by night. I've been writing for over ten years now, and generally tend to lean towards crafting stories that deal with the relationship between individuals and the societies they live in; why is society the way it is, why do humans behave certain ways on a larger scale, and how does this affect individuals on the micro scale. I also really enjoy exploring themes related to classism, cyclical patterns through time (also known as, 'history doesn't repeat, it rhymes'), and the constants of human nature no matter the culture, setting, or time - this is especially fun to explore in speculative fiction, where we can peel away our preconceptions and analyze these things in a setting that seems so far away from real life Earth, yet so closely familiar at the same time. As such, my characters usually tend to be outcasts on the outside looking in; their distance from their society gives them a clearer view of it, even as they wish to be a part of it. Their arcs often involve them entering the public eye of said society as a hero that wants to fix what they saw was wrong with society before. Do others support them? Who opposes them? Do they succeed? Do they still want to be a part of it at the end of their trials? That's for you to find out. I also like to focus on friendships and what draws us to befriend others; what is it about another person that makes us say to them, "Let me come along for the ride"? How do friendships grow, how do they break apart, and what causes us to open up our shells with others and let them see the squishy sensitive stuff beneath? My influences are usually from the video game and movie pools, differing by story. For my Jak and Daxter reboot trilogy (Legacy, Renegade, and Eclipse), main influences are Horizon: Zero Dawn, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Princess Mononoke, The Last of Us, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, and various Final Fantasies. |
