Clinton Road

One day late summer of 1990 Jake Dimaro and his best friend Paul Cramo had a sleep over, and they told stories of a ghost and detectives who solved the stories of the ghost.

Then Jake said, "It would be so cool if we were detectives; we could solve stories too."

"Yeah then we would be heroes," Paul replied.

Then Jake said, "Yeah I wonder how much money detectives get paid." After a couple laughs they went to sleep.

Now it is 1995. Jake is 10 and Paul just turned 11, and Paul was having his birthday party. His mom got him the board game "Clue." He and Jake would play that game for 3 hours a day. They loved that game; Jake would always be Mr. Green and Paul was always Colonel Mustard.

One day Jake asked "Hey Paul, do you think we will be friends forever?"

"Of course we will, why?" Paul answered.

"I don’t know; just wondering" replied Jake.

Now Paul and Jake are 20 and have jobs as police.

One day in the summer they got a call from a girl who said "My son and some of there friends when to Clinton Road late last night and haven’t come home yet. I’m worried."

Jake said "Don’t worry, we’re on our way." So he got Paul and started on there way.

When they got there they saw someone run around the corner of a house saying "It’s the blue belts; run!"

Jake jumped out of the car and followed him. When he got to the other side of the house he saw the remains of a burned cross and white robes lying on the side of the cross. Then he heard a door close. He followed where he thought he heard the noise and when he turned the corner he saw something terrible. The friends of the son were lying there but the son was not. The friends were not dead but they were going to be. If Jake had not come they were going to be burned on the cross. Jake looked up and saw the door that he heard close

Sorry but I have to go back to Paul. Paul turned the corner and saw people beating up a person. So Paul got out of his car to chase them away. once he got to the body he saw a note. The note said "Haha" and then all of a sudden everything went black.

When Paul woke up his head hurt so bad it felt like a truck parked on it; he felt as if he had enough strength to lift his head he looked around. He saw a man; the man was in a white robe and had a hood covering his face. He knew he’d need a plan or a miracle.

Now we need to get back to Jake. He looked up and saw the door. But the door was on the second floor and he was standing on the floor outside so in order to get inside he needed rope. So he looked around and saw a boat but there was no rope on it but there was a shirt in it. The shirt was torn and there was a little piece of paper in the pocket of the jacket. The paper said on it " leave if you value your life." Thinking the note was just a hoax he paid no attention to it. So he took the shirt and looked for a window. He found a window in the front of the house and threw the shirt through the window. So he jumped through the window and saw a table and playing poker on that table was the KKK. They jumped to their feet and charged at Jake. He jumped quickly to the side to dodge them. He ran up the stairs in to a room. He locked the door behind him and looked for a hiding place. He looked around. When he saw the door then he knew that those were the people who had the son. Feeling anger he looked for a weapon. Then he found a lead pipe on the floor he picked it up and stood behind the door. He waited when he herd foot steps coming up the stairs.

Now we go back to Paul. When Jake ran in the house he was in the upstairs of the house Paul was in and the glass made the guard leave the room that Paul was in. Seeing his chance he tried to get up when he realize he was chained to the ground and lying next to him was the son of the woman. He was bleeding on his head, but he was not chained to the ground. He needed to wake him up before the guard came back. But he was chained to the ground so he could not move and if he yelled the guard would be on him in a minute so what could he do. Just then he herd a yell and two thumps and a gun shot then every thing was quiet then he herd a door open and it was the KKK they threw Jake down the stairs. He was shot in the hand and was missing part of his middle finger. This is what had happened: he waited behind the door and Two of the KKK walked in. So he hit them on the head with the lead pipe and the guard that was in the basement with Paul came up so Jake was not expecting him and he shot the his hand so the lead pipe flew out of his hand. So now he is in the basement with Paul but he was not locked up like Paul because he was knocked out. But now the guard was back so he thought there was no hope. So he just sat there waiting then he had an idea: since the two guards were knocked out he just had to wait till that guard went to sleep. But then all of a sudden the man fell down and a man walked in it was one of the friends he hit the man in the head with a piece of the burn cross and said "that’s what it feels like. It hurts doesn’t it."

Then he walked up to Paul and said, "Hi my name is Tom. I will get you out of this hold on one moment there." He picked the lock with some twigs he found on the floor. Then he said "here I will pick up John you can carry him." (John is the son of the women) so Tom picked up John and Paul picked up Jake and they left the basement.

It wasn’t long till they found the car but when they got in the keys were gone. So Paul said "I will go find the keys but if I do not return in 30 minutes then go run back to the police headquarters and get back up" Then Tom said "Why don’t I go get back up now" Paul replied "because then both of us would be gone and they can take John and Jake." so Paul after saying this left the car and went back in side of the house. He went back in to the basement and saw that the body of the KKK guard was gone but the robe was still there. So he picked up the robe and put it on so now he had cover so he could go any where without being captured. So he looked around but he didn’t find anything so he when upstairs and into the room that Jake was in but nothing was there either so he went into the room that the KKK were playing poker and while he was looking in the room he found a broken jar on the floor and there was a map in it the map was directions to a treasure. Then he realized that the KKK were not really the KKK they were just treasure hunters trying to keep people from getting the treasure before they did. Then he herd footsteps outside and heard a man saying "they’re not going to get very far without the keys."

And then another voice said "Yeah but why are they just sitting in the car; do you think they’re wise to us?"

"Shut up you don’t know where the other one is he could be listening to us" replied the other man.

Now we go back to Tom. "It’s been 20 minutes where is he? I think I should go for help. No Paul said to wait but if he has gotten caught I don’t know maybe I can hot wire it. Let’s see is it the blue or the red?" said Tom to himself. But right when he was about to cut the red he heard a voice. The voice said, "come out or I will kill you." (To be continued)
