10 years ago I took my first tentative steps in Fanfiction with "Only Those Worth Breaking", a story about a young Sarmatian boy who is conscripted into the Roman army. After a while I left the KA realm to write some Lord of the Rings fanfiction under the name of Esteliel01.

As life went on, my muse went on holiday and "Only Those Worth Breaking" was left unfinished. However, the plans and ideas that I once had for Balan and Tristan never really left me. I always wondered if I would continue my tale some day.

I am happy to say that - after a break of 9 years - my muse has returned and I am working hard to bring my plotbunnies to life. The story of Balan and Tristan continues and you are welcome for the ride. Enjoy!

"Only those worth breaking" begins ten years before the events of the movie. Tristan, Balan and the others are part of a cavalry unit that consists of thirty knights. I find it impossible to write a cohesive story with thirty active characters, therefore some unit members will never be mentioned - or only in passing.
