"You have failed destiny Arthur. And the price you pay will be a heavy one." When Arthur is told he will lose the one person who holds his and Camelot's hopes and dreams, he rushes to protect Gwen. No-one notices the look of despair in Merlin's eyes.

Alternate ending to season's two The Sins of the Father. Arthur is set on killing his father for all the wrongs that he has done but Merlin can't bring himself to lie, believing that Arthur deserves the truth. Killing the King isn't an option though.
