Poll: In my story 'For The Greater Good' would you rather certain aspects of the back-story, that might not fit in as well within chapters, be released as corresponding one-shots or as individual chapters titled 'Flashback: ...' within the story itself? Vote Now! |
![]() Author has written 2 stories for Harry Potter. Hello! (I'm Kay, by the way) So, recently I was made aware of this wonderful, extremely popular forum, known as The Reviews Lounge, Too. I'm proud to say that I have joined it. It is amazing: do check it out. Another website you should check out, if you are a fan of Hermione/Severus stories as I am, is Ashwinder. It is a great fanfiction database dedicated to Hermione/Severus stories that are quality controlled, so you are guaranteed a story with decent punctuation, grammar and descriptions. My story, For The Greater Good, is posted on there as well. Please do drop by if you are visiting Ashwinder :) I might actually end up posting there one chapter ahead, or at least before I update here, so here's a link to my story there. Click here! Something else I am quite proud of participating in is the Hardcore Concrit Challenge. If you're a fan of thoughtful, critical and perceptive reviews, which help authors improve their writing, you should definitely check it out. I have a blog now! clutteredcloud.wordpress.com Please do check it out if you're interested. I'd really appreciate it. All of my fanfiction work will also be published there (in hopefully, an easy to read format), along with general comments and ramblings from me. Also, within the chapters, there will be no author's note, so "hurray!" for no annoying distractions when reading! :) A little bit about me: I'm a girl, who is nearing the end of her teen years (Oh no! I don't have a viable excuse for my immaturity any more). I'm actually a scientist by trade, but I love writing in my spare time: it helps me collect my thoughts, and I've always appreciated the beauty of languages. I find it fascinating that certain combinations of words can evoke such an emotional response because they paint an entirely too vivid picture. I suppose my love for reading and writing also stems from the fact that I have a wild imagination. Honestly, it is wild! The most random things pop into my head sometimes. Bunny rabbits riding dragons into forests of marshmallows kind of random. I think that's why I enjoy writing fanfiction: it gives me something to channel my thoughts towards. That being said, I don't claim to be an amazing writer. Just because I enjoy something and love it, does not automatically make me good at it. Although I hope when you read my stories, you think they are well-written, I can't say that as a fact, unlike some of the amazing writers on here. What I can promise is that in each and every chapter of my stories, you will find decent punctuation and grammar. I do my best to make sure that I carry out that promise: I won't slack on it. After reading a lot of Harry Potter fanfiction, I decided to finally post one of my own. For The Greater Good is a story in which Hermione joins as a Death Eater, in order to be a spy for the order. It is a cacophony of plots, as there is romance, action, angst and general drama mixed into one (and promising to be extremely long) fanfiction. Hopefully, if you read it, you'll think that it works, and although it is bound to be long, it does not go stale. There is Draco and Lucius, and Remus and Sirius thrown into the mix as well, as they are important supporting characters. Don't worry, I don't pretend Harry and Ron don't exist, and they will be a big part of this story, especially later on. After all, he is still the Boy Who Lived. Now, onto pairings I enjoy: Harry Potter: Hermione/Severus Hermione/Draco Hermione/Harry XMEN: Rogue/Gambit Rogue/Wolverine Wolverine/Jean Mystique/Magnito (after watching First Class) As you can probably tell, my favourite character is Hermione Granger. I think that she was a brilliant character who was not written to her full potential in the books. Although JK kept her intelligence, I felt that she allowed her to settle for Ron. I don't think there is anything with Ron as a character, I actually really enjoy reading about him, it's just that with how often they fought and their clashing personalities, I never thought they would make a great couple. Hermione was always ambitious, searching for the next best thing to conquer, and I think that was lost as the series continued on. Consequently, I enjoy reading stories in which she has a strong personality. In any stories I write, you can be sure that she will have a large part to play in the war effort and will be an extremely strong, determined and powerful character. Severus Snape, in my opinion, was one of the, if not the true hero of the series. I think, if written well, him and Hermione share quite a few characteristics which is why I love reading and writing about them. I suppose you could consider them my "OTP". And, lets be honest, who doesn't love a little bit of spy-work in a story (or a man)? Other Fandoms that I love reading: Sherlock, Doctor Who and X-Men would be the ones I enjoy the most after Harry Potter. Anyway, I hope you enjoy any story I put up. I should warn you, I do not promise to update as frequently as some would like. Writing fanfiction is a hobby of mine, which I place below day-to-day work on my priorities list. So, if I am swamped with work, I will not go out of my way to write another chapter. However, I do promise to continue writing, even if it takes me a while. Thank you for visiting :) Kay DISCLAIMER: There is no copyright infringement intended with my stories or images.
