Author has written 3 stories for Dragon Ball Z. About Me: I've enjoyed watching various anime shows over the years and I've found myself drawn to fanfiction. The one series of fanfiction that has stuck with me over the years is Dragonball Z. I will likely only write fiction for this series. In addition to FFN, I read a lot of published fiction, varying from medieval fantasy to futuristic post-apocalyptic tales. I think all the reading I do inspires my imagination. I only wish I had more time to get it all down in writing! Anyway, I hope that my stories will bring as much entertainment and enjoyment to the FFN community as I have garnered from it. Back in May 2014, I started working on two stories simultaneously; Under the Burning Sun and Lessons From My Father. With the chapters of LFMF growing in length, I'm forced to update less frequently. Therefore, I will be concentrating solely on this story for now. If you wish to contact me via PM, please keep in mind that my response to you may take a while. I don't typically sign onto FFN unless I'm updating one of my stories. When I do update, and I see that I've received any PMs, I will answer them at that time. Update 2/8/16: New chapters to Lessons From My Father will be coming out less frequently. Chapters are getting longer and I have less time for writing. Rest assured, I haven't abandoned this story. Just be patient and updates will eventually come. Fanart: Here's a brand new section on my author's page for those of you out there who have created or found fanart of my stories. If you would like your or someone else's artwork to be posted here, send me a review or PM. "Lessons From My Father-Comic Page" by Ameban My Stories: Complete: Silver Linings of a Distant Sky: The Wish That Changed it All In progress: Lessons From My Father On hiatus: Under the Burning Sun: The Beginning of the End Coming Soon: Blue Eden Into the Lion's Den My DBZ Saiyan Lore: In the series, there isn't too much revealed about the saiyans' culture or history. Here, I've put together a reference guide for the AU lore I've crafted that will be featured in my fics. Planet Vegeta: Religion: There is only one religion in saiyan culture. Therefore, there is no given name for this religion. Ceremonies are performed by shaman. Temples are usually the location for religious services. There are two deities in this saiyan religion. d' Jitaba Saiya– a.k.a. Jitaba. His name translates to 'the War-God Saiyan' and is derived from the word vegetable. Jitaba is the male counterpart of planet Vegeta's two guardians. He is the embodiment of strength, courage, and honor. He is a fierce warrior. He is stubborn and quick to anger. It is said that he fathered the first saiyans and gifted them with the desire for combat. He judges the souls of fallen saiyans and determines their fates in the afterlife. It is rumored that the first saiyan given the name Vegeta was named after Jitaba. The large, red moon of planet Vegeta is also named after him. d' Mele gu Saiya – a.k.a. Mele. Her name translates to 'the Mother of Saiyans' and is derived from legume. Mele is the female counterpart of planet Vegeta's two guardians. She is the embodiment of love, protection, and loyalty. She is a brilliant strategist. She is patient and quick to forgive. It is said that she birthed the first saiyans and gifted them with the ability to heal quickly. She binds the souls of two saiyan mates and ensures that they reunite in the afterlife. It has recently become custom to name females of royal blood after her. The small, blue moon of planet Vegeta is also named after her. Social Structure: By Clan - Within each great-tribe were many clans. These clans consisted of all the extended members of a family of saiyans. When saiyans mated with members of other clans, both mates - male and female - kept the name of the clan they were born into. Children receive the clan name of their fathers. By Profession - The survival of a great-tribe was dependent upon the various needs of the tribe being met. As such, most of these duties held equal importance to one another; crop growing/food gathering, creation of tools/weapons, crafting of clothing, building of homes, healers, etc. But a few roles were held with higher importance and regard; tribe leaders, warriors, and spiritual leaders. After the Saiyan-Tsufuru War, saiyans were united under one ruling family. But Saiyan society came to be divided in two new ways. These two methods coexist and overlap one another. The Class System - The Class System is the most modern method of categorizing saiyans. It is based upon power level and rank. The lowest and weakest tier in this system consists of 'classless' saiyans who fill the roles of service; farmers, doctors, educators, etc. Third and second class saiyans are soldiers. First class saiyans are squad captains. Above the first class are the elite saiyans. Elites are divided into two groups: sub-elites and super-elites. Sub-elites are lieutenants who oversee several captains and their squads while Super-elites are generals who command battalions of several lieutenants. Saiyans can rise in rank by increasing their power levels. The House System - The House System is a more traditional method of grouping saiyans. During the Saiyan-Tsufuru War, the Great-tribes had dissolved, but the Clans of old had remained in tact. Today, the Clans are referred to as Houses. Houses will strengthen themselves by marrying their sons and daughters to other Houses of strength. Like the traditions before the War, children acquire the House name of their fathers when they are born, and they keep the name of their birth House throughout their entire lives. Bonding: There are many types of bonds that exist between saiyans. The more intimate the relationship, the stronger the bond. The Kinship Bond - This is usually the first bond formed by a saiyan. This is the bond between parent and child, brother and sister. This type of bond commonly occurs with extended family such as grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. The Pack Bond - A pack bond is formed among saiyans who have frequent contact with one another and also have similar pursuits and interests. This type of bond typically forms in childhood, but has been known to form in adulthood as well. It is usually an extension of the kinship bond as it may include both family and non-family members. Members of a pack bond may also include friendly rivals. The Bond of the Squad - A pack of saiyans who are bound together by battle. Formerly known as The Bond of Duty, this type of bond existed between groups of saiyans who performed the same function within a great-tribe, such as hunters or craftsmen. But in modern times, this had evolved into military units. It is not unusual for a pack bond to grow into a squad bonding due to the fact that many packs are kept together when saiyans enter the military. They are typically led by a stronger squad captain. The Mating Bond - The bond taken between two mates who swear to a lifetime of loyalty and commitment to one another. It is a very deep and intimate bond, tying the two partners together psychically and binds their souls to one another. The breaking of this bond can cause severe mental and/or physical trauma. This bond doesn't occur from the act of mating alone but rather, it occurs after a specific ritual is performed. The Life Bond - This is the deepest type of bond that can exist between two saiyans. It is only performed between a mated/bonded pair, and even then it is very rarely done. The method and consequences of such a bond are known by less than one percent of the saiyan population. It is performed with great risk to both partners. This type of bond is so unique and special that when it is formed, it is regarded with the utmost respect and sincerity. |
