About the username: AequitasOnAZipdisk
" Aequitas is a giant non-sentient computer that serves as the judge and jury for the Autobot prison Garrus-9, its culpability drive devoted entirely to calculating... guilt." - TFWiki.com. Aequitas was once downloaded when Garrus-9 fell to the hands of six-phaser Overlord. Imagine such a machine carried around in your backpocket, stored on a 100MB disk. But that's preposterous, right? It's not like Optimus Prime's entire being was once stored on a 35" floppy disk... oh wait, it was! Oh, Transformers.
I'm a big fan of the Transformers franchise. Particularly appreciative of G1, Beast Wars and the Robots in Disguise series. Reads IDW comics and has some DW comics.
Writings tend to explore the unconventional and obscure. They may sometimes include the supernatural. Pairings may be written. The creation methodology depicted in the IDW comic is followed: Sparks ignite in Hot Spots and either construct naturally through living metal, or are constructed cold. Quintessons have their own methods using specialized bio-engineering knowledge. Transfomers are treated as electro-elemental beings housing in a mechanical body, and Canon orientations are followed for canon characters while original characters are written in an initially gender-neutral way. Read: the author does not assign orientations for the sole reason to prevent character lockdown. If it's not revealed in fiction, a character's orientation may be imagined by the reader as they see fit while reading the story.
Current stories under development:
- D-HEX-23675 journal: D-MSU-1 and the War-machine from cell-block 8 (hiatus, will come back to it).
- One-shots when I get hit with a massive amount of inspiration. So far this has been IDW MTMTE (More Than Meets The Eye) comic series-related.

[Series] The D-HEX-23675 Journals.
[G1] Millions of years after the rebellion of maintenance unit A-3 (Alpha Trion) and the loss of Factory Planet Cybertron, the Quintesson scientists Emphisa and Fernicius aim to build anew. On their terms. With their chosen tech. And best not all details presented to the court.
Journal collection:

Emphisa, Chief Scientist of the Aphos wing located in the Khalanxis facility on Quintessa introduces his latest prototype to a discerning council.
[Completed] Journal 2: Eliciting an emotional response of disobedience.
[G1] Salaxorius, Master of Inquisition, orders Emphisa's recently introduced prototype to his office for integrity testing. The Quintesson is known for his tough tests of will and his great dislike for Cybertronians. But can he lure the young mech into failure?
[Completed, wide focus story] Journal 3: Tales of Quintessa: Sons of Cybertron.
[G1] Five Cybertronians from differing heritages and factions awaken to find themselves locked in a murky room with no explanation as to how they got there. Little do they know that they are captive on Quintessa. In the mean time, Quintesson Chief Scientist Emphisa is put under pressure by the Overseer with a unforeseen request for the facility.
[Completed] Journal 4: Tales of Quintessa: Between Science and Justice.
[G1 -Pure Quintesson-centered one-shot story] The Quintesson Scientist Emphisa goes outside the facility for just a midday break, and gets caught up in an emergency facility lock-down. To make matters worse Salaxorius, Master of Inquisition, got locked out too. And he's looking for some amusement.
[In progress] Journal 5: Unit D-MSU-1 & the war-machine from cell block 8.
[G1] Quintesson scientists Emphisa and Fernicius find themselves wrapped up in a dangerous project to appease their Overseer. This leaves their mech prototype to wander the halls autonomously. Macetail shows some interest in the lone D-HEX, but Cindermaw fosters a different opinion on Sharkticon-Mech interactions.
[Completed] D-HEX-23675 & D-MSU-03: Discrepancy.
[G1[QUINTESSA] MSU-03 Pai'luck and HEX-23675 Mandar discover that they share an unsettling truth; they remember more days than they know to have. More alarming, their parts are much older than their programming is.
[Completed] The day planet Quintessa died.
Fiction Phase completed.
Note: The D-HEX-23675 journal collection is a series born of a character development project started in 2005. I personally find the Quintessons fascinating but there is hardly any official Canon lore available that actually describes the Quintesson culture. In comparison to IDW's Robots in Disguise and More Than Meets The Eye series there is almost nothing available on Quintessa and its inhabitants. It is the good right of the publishers to focus on the actual transformers since the fandom is called /Transformers/, but I think that the Quintessons were a bit more deserving of having their world defined. I am a world- and lore-builder so those kinds of things are important to me.
Since no-one was making a definition I begun writing the D-HEX Journals and Tales of Quintessa project to try and define the Quintesson culture as a solid society, and I focus on how they picked up years after Alpha Trion's rebellion. This includes the very likely possibility that some of them never stopped building formchangers besides Sharkticons and Allicons.
It should be no surprise to any reader that, considering the slivers of information that is known in Transformers lore, that the Quintesson society is obviously a Totalitarian one ("Servitude to the Quintesson Empire"). Decepticons utilize the Military Dictatorship form of government as evident by the fact that a Decepticon can only obtain full, legitimate leadership through forcefully overthrowing the previous leader and defending its rank against challengers ("Might makes Right"). Autobots are of course a Democracy with ritualistic/religious aspects for determining the Matrix-bearer ("Freedom is the right of all Sentient Beings").
I absolutely love stories that can depict the factions with all their intricate (sub)cultural facets, as truly none of them behave the same way. So if you know of, or have written something that really shows Transformers being giant robots in their own distinctive societies, feel free to let me know about it.
If you want to write Quintesson-centered fiction and want to use my setup as a guideline, feel free to do so. Please give credit where it's due, but otherwise yes; do make use of this if it helps you.

Tales of Quintessa – Sharkticons of Malovia
[G1] Even in the masses of identical Sharkticons, some are build different from the rest. Some of them swim upstream, following old memories and even older voices.

Notes from the Author

Note I:
Author Enmused (the author who also started writing Quintessa-based fiction) asked me about the Principles of USVIDA that she may use them as reference for her fiction, and suggested I put them up on my profile page for others who are interested. The principles are present in the D-HEX-23675 journals, but not presented as an actual list (characters are saying them during conversations). So here is a handy list format:
The rules of USVIDA (Which is an acronym derived from the most important word in each rule):
1. We must stand as one and work in Unity
2. We must be Strict to be effective
3. Vigilance keeps us safe; be ever watchful for Bad Behavior
4. Individuality destroys Integrity
5. We must show Discipline in form and thought
6. Adherence to law is the basis of superiority
The Principles of USVIDA is utilized in the Journals as a unification and conversion/thought-control method to foster loyalty within the Quintesson Empire. Not sure how to behave well? There's a principle to help you out of your moment of indecision, brother. Else there's always Sharkticons.
