Hello fellow readers and authors!! I hope all of you are doing well. :)

Okay...time to tell you a little about myself. Hmmmm...where to begin? I guess I'll start by telling you how I became interested in writing fanfiction:

Even in my high school days, I loved to write stories as a hobby. Most of them being science fiction types. I loved anything about space, aliens, robots...etc.

As I became older, I decided that it would be nice to become a published author one day. In 2004, the perfect opportunity arose when I found an ad in a Parenting magazine for The Institute of Children's Literature in Connecticut. Wanting to find out if I had the potential to be a published writer; I sent off for the Institute's aptitude test. Taking the test and sending it back in to be evaluated...I waited anxiously until I received the results 3 weeks later. They loved my test and gave me the opportunity to learn how to become a published writer!!! YES!!!!!

I started to pay the monthly tuition payments required towards my path of making writing a career. Unfortunately, a severe knee injury occured shortly after turning in my first writing assignment. The injury put me out of work for several weeks. Because of that, I couldn't pay my tuition and had to put my writing career on hold. :(

I wanted to start paying the tuition again (because I was given several opportunities to pick up where I left off)...but, several life occurrences arose. Also in 2004, the birth of my husband and I's first son happened. In 2008, the birth of our second son happened...WHEW!!! But there's more to the story:

Also in 2008, my husband became diagnosed with 2 different forms of cancer. From all the craziness of him being in and out of the hospital, I had to put my dream career as a writer on hold even longer. Sadly, all the treatments my husband had didn't help and he lost his fight with cancer in 2009. It was at this time that I decided being a widowed, single mother to my sons was more important than writing.

However, I decided it was time to find some sort of hobby...so I started to write short stories to read to my children. That got me interested in writing again. I wanted to write, not only for my children...but to make others happy as well.

Since I love aliens...when I heard about Dreamworks' movie, Megamind, I had to see it!! After watching it, I fell in love with it! I had heard of fanfiction before...so I decided to see if Megamind had any. Using Yahoo's search engine, I found this website in August 2011.

After reading several of the Megamind fanfics, I fell in love with one particular fanfic: Filigree by an author called "Hunger4Rightousness". After contacting her to ask if I could write my own "sequel" to Filigree and receiving her permission to do so, my creative juices were refreshed after all these years. My "sequel" to Dreamworks' original storyline in Megamind and Hunger's storyline in Filigree was born!!! Meteor Shower Wishes is that story and is the first time I've written any type of fanfiction at all. I hope you've enjoyed reading it as much as I had enjoyed writing it (often working on it while my children are asleep...LOL)!!!
