I also take a keen interest in Joan of Arc, various religions and cultures, Disney movies, the Victorian era, Nat Turner, dragons and poorly made pick up lines. I enjoy writing and do so constantly, including several fanfictions and two historical novels, one about Jane Boleyn the sister-in-law to Queen Anne Boleyn, and one about Jane Shore the favorite mistress of King Edward IV. My other past times including eating, sleeping, working, tearing out my hair in school-created frustration and reading any book relating to English history or the English monarchy that I can get my hands on. The other three books are Gathering Blue, Messenger and Son. While it's true Gathering Blue is a companion to The Giver and except for a vague reference made by one of the character there is very little to suggest it has anything to do with it's predecessor. However with the addition of Messenger we see characters from The Giver brought back into the storyline. This is continued with the series final book Son in 2012. I highly suggest anyone who read and enjoyed the Giver to read these books, if only to answer the question of what happened to Jonas and Gabriel. |
