Have you ever thought ‘you know, it would be funny if my Bella…’?

Have you ever wondered if your character went with a crazy option instead of the rational one?

Are you a fan who wants to tackle parodying another authors story?

Have you ever wanted to make fun of one of your Edwards, Emmetts, Janes, Angelas, ANYONE of your characters?

Now’s the chance to throw caution to the wind and turn the world of your fanfic upside down.

The Crackfic Your Fic Contest allows you to do that.

Crackfic Your Fic concept:

This is all about you having a sense of humor about your story. This is not the place to post things that make sense, but a place to explore the utter craziness of your fic. If you can’t make fun of your writing, then this is not the contest for you.

Rules

1. Your entry must be based on a previously written story. It can be a work in progress or complete, but it must be already published on ff.net, twilighted.net or any online fanfiction publishing site.

2. Entries must be between 1500 and 8000 words.

3. One shots only, no multiple chapters.

4. No multiple entries.

5. Collaborations are allowed.

6. Every entry must be beta’d and edited before sent to us and posted to the Crackfic Your Fic community.

Additional Information

-There is no age restriction for this contest.

-No rape, incest, pedophilia, any taboo subjects. If your fic contains these things, it will not be accepted.

-You can do a parody/satire of an entire fic, a chapter or a scenario that you think would be funny. You can turn your humans into vampires and vice versa.

Eligibility

Author of original story:

If you are the original author of the story, you simply have to send in your entry.

Fan looking to write for another Author’s story:

If you are a fan of a story and not the original author, but you would like to try your hand at parodying their story, you MUST get explicit permission from the author. This can be in the form of an email, PM, gchat, etc. Some sort of written agreement that they give you permission to parody/satire their fic.

The best way to do this is at LegalDocs. This website allows you to create a simple contract/agreement with anyone about anything. If you can not do this, a simple screencap of an email with the author will do.

Fan who can not get permission to write another Author’s story:

If you are not given permission, then there is another option. You may use the original source material of Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn or Midnight Sun and parody/satire off of that. You have pretty much free reign over what you want to do with the characters and what parts of the story you would like to play around with.

I realize that some authors may be harder to contact to get permission, which is why I’ve considered the deadline date.

Deadline for entries: 4/11/11

Public voting period: 4/12/11/- 4/19/11 (depending on how many entries are received)

Judging period: 4/12/11-4/19/11 (depending on how many entries are received)
