Author has written 1 story for Pokémon. Hello out there! I have always thoroughly enjoyed reading since I was young and have been hooked up on this site ever since I first discovered it several years ago. I find myself more as someone who reviews a work of art rather than creates it. For this reason, I may/may not post as many stories here (if any) compared to other readers/writers . My favorite stories come from the franchises that I am familiar with. This includes, but is not limited to: Pokémon, Skylanders, Ace Attorney and even the Yugioh anime (including the spin-offs). The creation of this account is for me to be able to help other writers improve their works by reviewing their works. If I find that my advice may be too long for a review, I may chose to send them a personal message instead. Hopefully, I may decide to properly write and complete a story of my own. Don't get me wrong, though; I'm not a perfect person, much less a perfect writer. I myself am still learning and may make mistakes, so feel free to ignore me if you don't agree with me. One last thing: I am extremely serious about the way I write reviews or advice. If I find that the story is considered good, I'm willing to go over what parts are good and even give suggestions. If a story has some very glaring flaws, I'm not afraid to point out what doesn't work out. If you cannot handle an honest review or if you don't want me to leave a review/message, feel free to let me know. PS: For future reference, feel free to leave an honest review on any story I may choose to publish in the future. I'd much prefer an actual review instead of things like "Good Job!" or "Please Update!" since I don't really see where I might need to improve. I particularly don't like the latter as it basically means that you're demanding me to finish the story faster. This does not encourage me to write more, so please avoid any comments such as these. As a side note, flaming comments that feature inappropriate insults and profanities without any value will be deleted. What are "Flame" reviews? I see so many people complain about other authors who sent them "flame" reviews. Yet, many times I notice that the same sort of reviews that are being complained about aren't really what people say they are. Oftentimes, they are often negative reviews, not flames. Considering how toxic the FFN environment has become, it's no surprise many authors not used to criticism may confuse the two. Negative reviews are those that mainly contain criticism to point out a story's flaws. If the story has flaws, the review will point those out. They are not directed at the author, only the story. Many negative reviews are done in order to help the story's author improve the quality of their fic. Flame reviews are not reviews about the story - they're directed at the author. This usually goes along the lines of insults and profanities, about the "reviewer" saying how bad the author is. Generally, flame reviews are made by authors who believe it is acceptable to express their hate towards another author with no consequences (A bad attitude to have in the modern world).Unfortunately, FFN has turned into an environment where many people believe that anything they post is perfectly acceptable and that there's nothing wrong with it. The second someone points out their flaws, they retaliate because they cannot handle it. They call the review a "flame" by insulting the reviewer either by reply or PM, they block the author and they only allow people who support them to remain. Even worse, some "authors" decide to break the norms of decency by posting stories directed at certain authors who've "flamed" them before in order to ridicule them. Ironically, they're doing the same thing that they're accusing the other author of doing. This "flame war" is not what this site is about. This site is for people to post stories they've written and for other people to help the writers improve. If you know your story is deliberately bad or done with very little effort, of course people are going to complain about it. Don't insult them back because you hate being told you're wrong. Accept the criticism, learn from your mistakes, and move on. |
