But he also expects them to follow orders, especially orders that are designed to keep them safe. What happens when one agent confuses orders for requests, and initiative for insubordination? (Set before season 6) Ziva's been acting odd lately and it seems Tony's the only one to notice. He tries to help but she wont open up. The more he asks, the more she shuts him out. No one else can see that something isn't right but him, and despite how much she tries to convince him it's all fine Tony knows better. He sees more than she thinks but will she let him help her?

Gibbs is supposed to track down the killers and go home. If a man's responsible, he throws him in jail. If it's a ghost, he lays it to rest . . . Or at least, that's what he's supposed to do. When the situation calls for it, though, he's never been afraid to break a few rules. (Gibbs and Tony, father/son, ghost AU).

This job is sucking the life out of him. There are people at every turn trying to highlight his mediocrity. He thinks he can hold out until he finds away out of this cloud of superiority complex. But then again that aura of superiority is only part of the chain of command. Tony finds out some uncomfortable truths in the world he works in and what it means for his future.

Gibbs has been basically alone since the death of his wife. His neighbor Sarah had been alone even though her husband was still alive and in her house. Gibbs has always been there for her, helping her with home repair and still being there for her when she needed anything. It would have continued that way forever until the team gets involved. What will happen is anybody's guess.

The first story of series l I plan in the NCIS universe. A mysterious woman collapses in the office leaving Gibbs and his team to find out who she is. What they don't expect is kidnapping, torture, bribes and a link to Gibbs's past. Can Gibbs protect her and her daughter? And can he open his life to accept an old friend from the past.
