I'm an old-fashioned writer, one of those rare types who still takes a notebook and pen to a coffee shop and doesn't leave until she's got a chapter written. I have scraps of paper with sentences, quotes, character sketches, and plot planning in the bottom of my purse. I have probably have a fully-written story down there!

I am a 21-year-old college student now. I study History and English and am terrified that I'll be permanently unemployed when I get out. I eventually want to be a college history professor while writing books on the side. I want to be this generation's James Michener and write historical fiction novels that are so compelling that you can't put them down, even when they are 800 pages long.

I am a proud member of the Harry Potter generation. I started reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone during Christmas 1998 and never looked back.
