Author has written 3 stories for Legend of Zelda. Hi there! Firstly, welcome to my profile! Some of you may be disappointed that I took down my attempt at fully fledged story, 'The Only One' just recently. The answer why is simply this: I really DO NOT have any time to update it. It was an idea that I had, and after five chapters I stalled, got uninspired, and full time work took over my life for a good 9 months (as well as making my social life non - existant). HOWEVER...now that work has settled down somewhat, and I have some time free on the weekends, and given that I miss writing and being creative so much, I've going a new way. The two one shots that I wrote previously (Don't You Remember? and Jar of Hearts) were both quite easy for me to write: I knocked them both over in an about an hour each, edited it the next day and then uploaded them. Not only did I feel like I'd accomplished something when I had posted them, I felt much better about being able to do something that I WANTED to do and that I ENJOYED to do. Not what my job dictated I SHOULD be doing. So...I feel that since my free time is limited, and that since every time I turn on my ipod another song inspires me, I will just focus on writing one shots. For now. I will still use music as a basis for my work, which will allow me to set myself a challenge and give my brain a workout. As easy as it sounds, using the lyrics of a song word for word and turning them into a coherent story is anything but. But then, music inspires me: when I hear a song, and get a flash of an event, or characters vocalising the lines or of a place, the song immediately goes onto the 'writing' playlist, ready to be pulled apart, word for word, so a story can evolve. That's what I enjoy most about the process: being to proudly post a story that says 'yeah, I used the lyrics of that song. But look how it can be transported and applied in this world!' So that is now the basis of what I am going to be doing with my writing. Suggestions for songs / character match ups are quite welcome! After all, this is a sharing site, and I would love to take up some of the challenges that get thrown my way! Reviews are always appreciated, and constructive criticism is always welcome. I'm always looking to get better, so suggestions and / or questions are invited. So send me your suggestions...NOW! :) Cheers! |
