-Overview-

Writing fanfiction (and originals) is not new to me. I have been reading fanfictions for several years now, and I feel that now is that the time to make my own. Or at least, my own good ones. I made a profile on here when I was about fifteen or so and published a story. It sucked...badly. I never proofread it, I went through the action too quickly, and the characters I made up were really shallow. After getting some (well-deserved) bad reviews, I lost motivation and stopped writing. Then, a few years of no fanfiction later, I decided to make another one on a new profile. This one was much better. I proofread it regularly (though lazily), I had recently passed my AP English with a high B after working with a writing coach (due to my essays being atrocious), and regained confidence in my writing. However, I started going through a tough time in my life, which involved a lot of depression and an identity crisis which I won't go into. It's not that I don't like talking about it, it would take a LONG time to explain. Anyway, I stopped updating the story and again went without fanfiction for a years, even after I had gone past my depressive state.

And then there's now. Now I'm in college, and I'm starting to get a feel for what kind of a person I am and what I want to be. One of the things I want to be? A writer. So, here I am (on the road again), back for more. Also, I have mild-moderate ADHD, which I think is the primary reason why my imagination is so wild, and how I can write so well.

-Vidya Games-

Many of the stories I come up with will be based on video games. In fact, that may be the only thing I base it on (maybe). So I thought I would mention what games I like. In terms of genre, I usually lean toward RPGs (western and eastern), horror, sandbox/open world, shooters (FPSs and 3rd person), and silly games. If I had to choose a favorite, I would have to pick JRPGs. If I had to pick a favorite series, I'd go with Fire Emblem. If I had to pick a single favorite game, I would choose Tales of Symphonia. ToS is the game that got me interested in plots, and made me pay more attention to the storyline in movies, TV shows, and video games. It has a special place in my heart, and I will forever love it no matter what anyone says about it.
Despite my love for RPGs, I probably have spent most of my time playing sandbox and open-world games. I think it's mainly because the combination of my ADHD and all the possible things you can do in a sandbox game makes my sporadic nature surface and flourish. It gives me an outlet to just screw around and do whatever comes to mind (which is a lot).

And as a final note, if you're thinking about reviewing one of my stories, always remember this: I love constructive criticism. I always like being told what I'm doing wrong and how I can improve it (or just the first part). However, always remember that there's difference between flaming and criticizing: one helps me improve my writing skills, the other makes me hate myself.
