(Written before the finale) With no betrayal, the attack on Mount Weather was a costly success. The toll for Clarke herself was still too much, and another kind of betrayal leaves her running into the forest. She was done being a leader. Done bearing that burden. But there are some things you just can't run from, and Clarke will find herself being forced to make that choice again.

This was written after the first half of the season 2 finale and during the second half. Just keep that in mind when you read that this is AU.
