Okay, just reuploaded The Grand Pegasus Race. It kind of hurts to read it again for me, mostly because I tend to be over-critical of my work. It doesn't help that I wrote this when I was brand new to the dos and donts of OC fanfiction, not to mention MLP in general. But hey, at least I didn't write anything too non-canon, right?
*Reads further*
Never mind. It really isn't my best work, but if I ever get around to redoing it, I'm sure it'll be much better. How could it be worse?!

Meanwhile, I'm putting Blitz in DSoH, though he'll be just a little different. He'll be more balanced, more developed, and sporting two more wings, all of which are because I had roleplayed him so much and taken a lot of good advice for the character. So yeah, I hope this works :)

And I've finally uploaded it! Took me long enough. I promise it won't take that long for just a simple chapter rewrite anymore. Thanks again to my reviewers; without you guys, I wouldn't have known what to fix. I can only do so much by myself, as you can see.

Now that's all done and dusted, I have three things left on my to-do list for the short term:

1. Restart my other fanfic, The Grand Pegasus Race
2. Write chapter 11 and upload it
3. Work on events for future chapters until I have a solid outline for the entire story (this will take awhile :\ )

I'm restarting work on both my fanfics and my other commitments, so that means I'll hopefully have chapter 4 completely rewritten by the end of the week. Sorry for the wait, but I can't really help some of it.

Looks like I'm not out of the woods yet in terms of business. I've gotten great grades for my finals considering how little I know of the subjects and stuff, but I've been performing in my school's production of Robin Hood and the talent show. I've had barely any time to edit stuff, so I'm putting everything on hold for now. Sorry!

This doesn't mean I'm gone, though. I'll put my other fanfic online if I get the time, key word if.

I just finished all my finals! The only grade which might bring me down is Pre-Calc. I'm relatively sure the rest of them are going to do fine. Now that's over and done with, I can safely worry about the less pressing matters like YouTube and TDSoH. I already uploaded a crapload of videos in YT to make up for my absence, so I'll try to do a similar thing for my fanfiction and finish my editing. I have a good idea of what I'll do for Chapter 11, but before I write it I'll have to re-upload my first fanfic, The Grand Pegasus Race or whatever I called it. The reason I deleted it in the first place was I wasn't satisfied with any of it, but the reviews I got were constructive enough and the OC I had in the story is one I'm hoping to use later on. (hint hint)

My OC isn't of my own design. Snakeman1992 (I think I got the numbers right) from My Little Brony came up with him originally, and I took him on ever since. Over the past year, I've made some changes to him with the help of my pals over at Memebase Bronies, the most dramatic change being two race changes (Earth Pony -- Unicorn -- Pegasus) His name is Blitz (or Tempest in the Grimdark forum roleplay) and you can find his info right here:

Well, the finals are upon me. I've just finished Chem and Pre-Calc, so the hardest finals are over. I brought a vinyl collectible Rainbow Dash with me as a good luck charm (you can find them at Hot Topic). So far, I've gotten a couple looks from people wondering why I have a rainbow pony on my desk, but nobody seems to mind too much.

Just copying and pasting some of my story notes!

Chapter 1:

(A note: this is set mid-season 2. I had to make the choice of whether to update the story every time a new episode comes out or just keep it as is even if a new episode offers some really good material. I ran through the pros and cons and decided to stay with the fixed-timeline setting, so I hope this doesn't disappoint timeline-wise.)

Chapter 7:

Note: I had written both this chapter and the next before watching episodes 5 and the first part of 7 of the new season. You can therefore imagine the pleasant surprise I had when I watched Trixie and Spitfire's developments falling really well into place with my interpretations of their characters, especially Spitfire. I've often r.p.'d as Spitfire before and interpreted her attitude more towards how she acts in early episode 7 than how she acted in the previous seasons (sharp, business-like, and quite rude at times) Anyway, I hope you enjoy the two brand new chapters as much as I enjoyed writing them!

If I seem a bit frazzled right now it's because I am. Tautology aside, I'm finally feeling the strain of an author working to a deadline.

Miponiski and Villain84, you two are fantastic. I truly appreciate your help in turning The Dark Side of Harmony into a success, but methinks you've helped too well. Now instead of not knowing what to change I feel like I need to change everything! D:

The reasons for my stress aren't only the fanfiction. I have finals next week and if I don't do well, I could end up with a D in Chemistry or English (that's a laugh; an avid writer like myself failing writing class) and if that happens I might not appear on here for quite some time. You know I'm desperate not to fail when I learn Tom Lehrer's The Elements by heart just to stay afloat in Chem. (Seriously, I had to do that.)

Even if I manage to put my academic worries aside, I still have a lot to do. Here's my list of changes/edits to be made on DSoH (in order of importance):
•Rewrite chapter 4 and fill in plotholes related to that chapter
•Fill in any other plotholes I come across as I revise the rest of the story
•Stop panicking
•Remove the trivial notes I've put at the top of some of the chapters and put them here instead so they're out of the way
•Catch up on Season 3 and decide once and for all what canon/fanon time period this story is set in (sometime in season 2, not quite sure when)
•Wording edits
•Grammatical and spelling checks/edits
•Make a nice hot cup of tea and relax when I'm all done
•Figure out what I'll do for Chapter 11. I figure it should be brilliant to make up for my sketchy writing so far.

Seriously, thanks a million for the reviews. I say it's better to know what to fix even if it's not easy than to think everything's perfect when it's not.
