Okay, since I'm sort of getting back into one of my fanfics, I figured I might put a little info on here for anyone who cares enough to read it. In case it isn't apparent, I like writing. Scratch that. I love writing. Dragonball Z fanfics were the start of my obsession with stories, and so I have a certain soft spot for them despite the fact that a lot of this site is out and out garbage. I'm not trying to sound conceited, but it's hard to find a decent fic in this category, and especially one that caters to my tastes. Having said that, I understand that a lot of writers (myself included) use fanfiction as a way of practicing the craft. Everything I know about writing has, at least in a vast majority, come about as a result of my efforts in DBZ fanfiction. I have reached a point now, though, that makes it difficult to write them. Most of my time anymore is spent writing books that I hope to publish sooner or later, but I do enjoy piddling around here once in awhile. Unforgiven is the story about a What if? What if the androids took over the world instead of destroyed it? How would their propoganda effect society, and, more importantly, who would overthrow them? In the Air Tonight is a half prequel, half original story of how the androids came to said power. While in essence it follows the vague concept of the TV series, I have taken great liberties with the characters, plot, and various details. Eventually the story will evolve into Unforgiven, but it is certainly not necessary to have read that before this. This story is still in progress, and while I tend to take some lengthy vacations from it––which all depend on my other projects––I do still intend on finishing it, but the length of time between now and then really depends on the level of shown interest. I stress reviewing heavily for two reasons. 1) It is the sole means of telling how much interest a story is generating. I can't rely on hits, because hits only tell me a page was opened, not read. 2) It is the only means by which I can deduce what I am doing well and what I am not, based upon the opinions of the readers. It amazes me to this day how many reads a story will get up to the most current chapter but still so little actual feedback. My fellow authors and I put a lot of time and effort into our stories, and it only takes five seconds to submit a small bit of feedback telling us someone cares. If you've got questions about me or my stories, my e-mail should be around here somewhere. I'll respond to them immediately. I hope you enjoy the stories, -A.J. |
