![]() Author has written 16 stories for Dragon Age, and RENT. Just a hobbyist writer, who decided the world of Dragon Age was way to much fun not to write about. I pretty much just love stories, in any and all formats. TV, video, games, movies, theatre, books, gossip, and the stuff I make up in my own head. I work in theatre, mostly musical and always backstage. Just finished watching Les Miserables over 100 times. Seriously, think you like Les Mis? Try watching it 8 times a week for three months. Woohoo! Writing's a good way to kill time between the points when I have to light someone's face, or push something around. I live above a karaoke bar, right now the strains of "Sweet Caroline" sung by drunk and tone-deaf people is keeping me up when I should be sleeping. Let's see, what else... I love me some BioWare RPGs, and also pretty much anything by Valve. Currently starting my umpteenth playthru of Dragon Age. Damn you Bioware. I'll read almost anything, but current favorite authors are Terry Prachett and Neil Gaiman; I love anything with a touch of whimsy. Or British, that works too. Oh and I absolutely love Song of Ice and Fire but I probably will never write fanfic for it because I will never be able to do it justice. I like funny, I like interesting/different but well written pairings. I love irreverent. I like watching strangers coming together as an odd little family. Also, I love the Dragon Age Writer's Corner. If you see the letters DAWC, in my fic, which is most of them, that's what that stands for. It's a great community for those who love to write/talk about Dragon Age and fiction in general. I'm not a big fan of angst. I write it, but very, very rarely. And I really don't like to read most of it. Actually, a fic described as Angst/Hurt/Comfort will usually send me running in the opposite direction. It has to be really well written. I try to review what I read, but it's getting hard enough for me to just write, so I apologize if I don't review, and I don't read nearly as much as I would like to. I've decided to go ahead and group my stories together in a way that makes sense; to me anyway Mahariel-centric Faleni Mahariel; my main Warden, and probably the one I am writing about the most. Currently only one long fic, but there's definitely more floating around in my head. Shadow in the Forest - The early story of the life of Faleni Mahariel, a Dalish girl who has one really special talent. From the age of 6 to the beginning of Origins. Currently 12 chapters are up, but updates are slow because I work too much. Cheaters and Winners - Kind of a silly story, and really more about Isabela and Wynne then Faleni, but she plays a large supporting role. May or may not be canon. Dances with Dragon Age - Definitely not canon, but very silly. It's my first fic, a battle royal between all of the companions from DA:O, DA:A and DAII. Faleni Mahariel and Diana Hawke are the hosts and commentators, with the whole thing taking place in Vigil's Keep's ballroom. That Faleni works very hard to keep nice. though first names are never mentioned. Expect insanity. This one is complete with 12 chapters. Morrigan: From A to Z - An alphabetically themed character study on Morrigan, everyone's favorite evil swamp witch. So far 11 chapters down, 15 to go. Faleni's the Warden in this fic, just not the focus. Had Enough of Love - A DAWC songfic, this one based on Adele's "Right As Rain". It takes place during Awakening, Faleni is the Warden-Commander, Alistair is the King of Ferelden. The two of them have some serious issues to work out. Song of Courage, Song of Valor - A series of 10 short stories based off of random songs off my iPod/Pandora station. Different character POVs, different points in time, but my head canon Warden Faleni Mahariel features in a number of them. DAII-centric aka "The Negative Continuity of Diana Hawke" I apparently have a really hard time writing a consistent history for Diana Hawke and her Kirkwallian-friends - so they get stuck in numerous crossovers and bizarro situations. Diana goes from being a rogue to a mage and back again; her siblings end up dead, alive, and in various jobs - Diana herself goes from being mage-friendly to templar-friendly and sleeps with just about anyone. Why Diana? I like the name better than Marian. Dances with Dragon Age - Again, this one has Diana Hawke as one of the commentators. Despite the silliness of the story, this is my canon Hawke essentially - she's a smart*$$ rogue. Only this time both of her siblings are alive. Viva La Kirkwall - A RENT crossover. Diana's turned into a mage in this one, so Carver is alive and a Grey Warden. Diana doesn't show up all that often, but she makes her presence felt; she essentially plays everybody's mom, and the one who Isabela cheats on Aveline with. Did I mention that it's a RENT crossover and therefore very AU? Also, Faleni Mahariel makes a cameo. Revenant - I took Dragon Age II characters and put them in a slasher film. Pretty much. Diana's back to being a rogue, and Bethany is a Circle Mage. Diana takes her friends to a mansion in the woods. It doesn't go well. Paper Hearts - Actually Isabela's story, set some time in Act II. Isabela displays a hobby with a delicious backstory. Diana's the Hawke in this one, though not named as such. A Lucky Find - A silly one-shot that happens when Diana and her friends go adventuring through Kirkwall. Diana looks through garbage for interesting stuff. A Firstday Carol - A Dragon Age version of A Christmas Carol. Diana's a rogue, and she's playing Scrooge. Her whole family's dead, and she's the Viscount of Kirkwall. Merrill is the Ghost of Firstday Past, Varric is the Ghost of Firstday Present, Anders is Marley, and Justice is the Ghost of Firstdays Yet To Come. And then there's everyone else. Girl's Night Out- So as it turns out, the only constant I have when it comes to Diana is she and her friends will never fail to get themselves in massive amounts of trouble. She and the other girls go on a trip to the Wounded Coast, and things go badly. She's a rogue, and Bethany died in the Deep Roads. It takes place sometime between Act 1, and Act 2. Song of Courage, Song of Valor - A series of 10 short stories based off of random songs off my iPod/Pandora station. Different character POVs, different points in time, and as close to a real headcanon Diana Hawke as I'm ever likely to write about. There's my other one-shots as well, but they don't really fit into my canon, but I do enjoy them. Please Read and Review! | |||||||
