Profile: Silver Scale, aka Clay Pigeon Male 19 years of age White Average height: 168cm Weight: 57kg Short, deep brown hair Hazel eyes One younger brother: John Loves: Adventure, fanfiction, video games, A few tidbits about me… I am an avid reader who usually spends at least half my time reading something or another. I’m a huge fan of video games and have been playing avidly since I first played Halo with my dad at four years old. I love to tell stories – though it’s more the worldbuilding for me as of late – and keep at least one notebook, pen, and pencil with me at all times in case I need to write down an idea before I forget. I’m also an aspiring voice actor and learning to animate. Maybe I’ll be able to put some of my ideas in animation… you know, since I can’t seem to put them in writing. Randomly list twelve characters from your favorite TV shows –I added video games too!
Questions
How to Tell if You’re a Writer • If you talk to yourself. –All the fucking time! • If you talk to yourself about talking to yourself. –Less than you’d think, considering the above. • If, when you talk to yourself, you sometimes speak as if talking to another person. –For a fictional teenager from an entirely different universe, Sunset Shimmer makes a surprisingly wonderful confidant. • If, after uttering a profound piece of wisdom like that above, you stare at the cookie in your hand in awe and say, ‘Wow, this is good stuff for sugar highs!’ – Hmm… eenope. Never even crossed my mind. • If you live off of sugar and caffeine. –I tend to drink at least a can of soda a day, and I should probably eat more healthful foods, but I haven’t had so much as a sip of coffee or Red Bull in my life. • If people start to notice that you tend to check your e-mail every day for a week, then suddenly disappear off the face of the planet. –I’m that way with Facebook. • If your e-mails tend to be pages long and incredibly random. – Long, yes; random, not so much. • If, when replying to someone else’s e-mail, you are sometimes so random that you fail to address the original message altogether. –Eenope; though, that’s probably because I don’t reply to emails that often. Give me Discord or Messenger any day. • If you tend to collect the Bic Stics people leave lying around, kind of like picking pennies off the ground. –What the hell is a Bic Stic? • If, no matter where you are in your room, you never have to so much as get up to reach a pen/pencil and paper. –I keep two pencils, two pens, two drawing pens, and no less than two notepads in the pockets of my jacket at all times. My family even jokes about me having ‘pocket dimensions’ for how much shit I fit in there. • If the letters are starting to wear off on the keys of your keyboard. –Eenope, not yet. • If people think you might have A.D.D. –There’s a reason they think that… I do. • If you think it’d be cool to have A.D.D. –Why? Just… just why? • If you start constantly talking in the third person, past tense. –Thank Celestia I don’t; I have enough weirdness to worry about, thank you very much! • If you think about making lists like this and start giggling for no ‘apparent’ reason. –A few times. A lot more times not thinking about lists, though. • If your friends dont even bother to look funny at you anymore when you start giggling for no apparent reason. –Hahahaha… Yeah. • And finally, the number one way to tell if you’re a good writer: You failed English 101. –Actually, English was one of my best subjects. • Every time you hear a song, you think of a new story or one you’ve already written. –Wait, you stop at songs and stories? Amateurs. • You have the last chapters of a story done before even thinking of the characters names. –Eenope. I start with the worldbuilding and characters before I create plots and story-lines. • You often imagine your books becoming movies. –Is that not normal? I thought everyone did that. • Spell check is your best friend. –Yes! Thank the stars for spell-check! • You give even the smallest of characters a huge background. –J.R.R. Tolkien, eat your heart out! • You hesitate before killing off one of your favorite characters. –Eh… no; not really, no. • You smile really big when you are going to finally write a character love scene. –Haven’t yet; I’m not too good at putting romance in my writing… or my drawing… or my actions… or pretty much anything. • Every time you read something, you make your own story of the same thing. –Most of my stories have come from me pointing out the issues with something, thinking “I could do better!”, and just seeing where it goes. • You’ll spend an hour trying to find one word because you won’t dare use a synonym. –All… the fucking… time. • Not being able to write is like not being able to pee to you… you just can’t hold it in for so long. –Sometimes, I used to get that way all the time with my drawing. Nowadays, it’s mostly just with reading. • You write so fast, you leave out words in a sentence. –I jsut misspel eveyting1 • You have to tell at least one person your whole story before it’s even written. –I wish. My parents know so little about the media I write about that telling them forces me to explain everything beforehand and talk to them like children, which makes me feel like a condescending prick. My brother, on the other hand, just doesn’t give a fuck; all I have to do is tell him I’m doing something related to My Little Pony and he’ll take off like I’ve got the plague. • Things that are written badly annoy you and make you want to re-write it better. –Don’t. Get. Me. Started. • You laugh at jokes you wrote yourself. –I haven’t done enough jokes to know for sure, but I don’t think so. • You can spell words like ‘troublesome’ but can’t spell ‘the’ half the time. – If I had a nickel for every time I’ve misspelled ‘the’, I could buy all the media I write fanfiction for and make them canon. • If you are not writing or typing, your fingers are moving constantly. –Part of my A.D.D. is that I’m consistently needing to move my hands. • You talk to yourself… constantly. –I am 100% certain that I have talked to myself more than I’ve talked to other people, though it’s mostly imagining scenes in my head and saying the dialogue out loud. • When you have to write some sort of story in class, you get carried away. –Absolutely! Stories were my favorite part of English class, to the point where I’d openly complained about not being able to write more stories. I’ve heard some people say that they’ve turned stuff in late just so they could go over the top with it; I would be one of those people given half a chance. I once had to write a story for Freshman English that had to be at least a page and a half… mine was three pages on Word and seven pages on paper. Do you want me to go on? I could go on. • You would rather die than use words like ‘good’ or ‘nice’ and etc. –To a lesser degree, but yes. I don’t like using words like ‘good’ or ‘nice’ and will gladly find a synonym, but I am not above it if I deem it necessary. • You put off the last chapter of a story simply because you don’t want it to end. –Why the hell would I do that‽ The ending is usually the best part! • You start to cry when writing about a death or other depressing event you knew was coming, and you are the one writing it. –I don’t know; I haven’t written that kind of sad scene yet… which is really odd, since I like more serious stories as opposed to comedy. • When on a roll, you will ignore hunger, sleepiness, or the urge to pee until you run out of ideas. –I wrote my answers to this at two in the morning… enough said. • If a story, movie, show, etc. finishes without closure, you have a powerful need to write a suitable ending. –I’ve thought of suitable endings, but I’ve never written one before. • You like to fidget, tap, or chew on the tip of something when you are trying to come up with a new sentence, paragraph, chapter, or story. –I used to do this a lot more; maybe it’s because I don’t write on paper as much anymore as I do type. • You are in love with the Thesaurus. –Um, maybe… just a little bit. • You dream about your stories. –All the fucking time. • You dream of new stories. –Not as much as the above, but still quite often. • You often revisit some of your old stories. –I probably have at least fifteen stories that I’m bouncing back and forth on right now. • Someone can call your name twenty times without you hearing if you’re writing. –Only twenty times? They don’t know me very well. • You would rather talk to the voices in your head than the person sitting next to you. –I think I voice dialogue in my head more than I talk to other people. • You would rather write than go out. –That wasn’t obvious already‽ God, it’s like you aren’t even reading this! • Your/you’re and their/there/they’re are errors that send you into an apoplectic fit. –Yeah, but I just get angry at myself for misspelling everything. • You get cranky if you don't get to write. –Just a little. • You’ve heard/seen/thought something, and thought, I need to write that down. –All. The fucking. Time. Seriously; I keep a notebook and notepad in my pockets at all times for this exact purpose. Oh, and at least three pens/pencils. • You wake up in the middle of the night and scrabble for a pen and paper you keep next to your bed to write down a scene to make the voices be quiet so you can get some sleep. –I have not fallen asleep before 1 am in months. • Getting the scene finished is more important than coffee, the bathroom, or food. –It’s more just reading for me, but yeah, I will sit for hours on end… every day. • A blank wall becomes the screen where the scene you’re writing takes place right in front of your eyes. –A few times, yes. • You can’t write because you’re mad at one of your characters. –Eh… no. Not really, no. • You start to laugh out loud in public at what something your character might say. –I reference everything to everything, all the time. • Even though you try your hardest to resist, you often correct your own grammar on I.M. –Yeah, but I don’t know what I.M. is. I use Grammarly. • You talk to yourself about talking to yourself too much. –Eenope. • Your family/friends have come to the ignore the habit of your talking to yourself. –Most of the time, I have let my family know that I’m talking to them and not just talking out loud. • You’ve apologized out loud to a character after doing something horrible to them. – Eenope… not yet, anyway. Copy and Paste this if you’re a writer. |
