It finally happened. After 18 years. Ash got a real kiss.

When I was younger, Pokémon was the show that got me into shipping. Watching Misty blush and Ash be a dense idiot was what led me to fanfiction in the first place. It's the reason I've kept AAML in my name all these years.

I've paired Ash with other people before - I'm always down for a good Ash/Gary story, after all - but, if pushed, I would always have said Ash/Misty was my favourite Pokémon pairing.

But now I'm not sure.

All throughout XY I found myself rooting for Serena, and after that kiss, all I want is more Ash/Serena moments.

Maybe it's because Ash seemed so different this season that he felt like a different character? Maybe since XY was the first Pokémon series I watched in Japanese it just feels like a different show entirely? Maybe I can want Satoshi/Serena at the same time as Ash/Misty?

Regardless of the reason, amourshipping FTW! Fight on, Serena!
