A little about myself...

I love zombies they are awesome. So a little about myself. I am now finally a registered nurse after four very long years of university. I love the nursing profession although some days it does not always love me. Most people do not understand how mentally and physically demanding nursing can be. It has been a long road but I am happy to be done with school and happy to be out working. Even on my worst days I still love nursing because I realize that at some point during the course of my day I have affected someones life in a positive way.

Writing is a guilty pleasure and keeps me sane. I live in Canada and it is awesome here. School is tough and takes up most of my time. Hence the huge time gaps between updates. As my name would suggest I am female. SC girl does not stand for South Carolina girl. However I would love to visit the state one day. When I'm not writing I'm usually at the gym, running or working.

I'm usually a touch on the sarcastic side. However I'm not a mean person by any means. I'm always happy to answer questions about myself or the stuff I write. I love reviews good or bad they always make me think and help improve upon the stuff I write.

Also, I am very aware my grammar is horrible. I am fluent in both English and French for those of you who would like to know. My first spoken language was English, however I was taught how to read and write in French first. As a result of a very crappy school system I ended up teaching myself how to read and write in English. Because of that my grammar sends most people into seizures. So if my grammar is truly bugging you, please send a private message and give me pointers.

Update (Fall / Winter 2012) I have not updated in quite sometime. To be honest I just have not had the time. During the summer I was very focused on writing and passing my licensing exam to become a registered nurse. Also, during the summer I have been dealing with some personal issues. My life has changed dramatically in the last few months and I have been trying to adjust. I would like to return to writing, I feel it might make my life semi normal again. I also need to find a muse for my writing. I usually find inspiration with music or movies. Give me some time.

The Walking Dead...I love the human condition. I think anymore the world we live in is full of people who are far to selfish and obessed with quick self gratification. I think people forget what it is to be human and have compassion and kindness. Okay, I know that was kind of lame but I feel it is true.

The movie "Warrior" because it is a story of family and healing.

Previous work: "In retrospect to the dead" my Alien/Predator fic. Started in the summer of 2004 and was taken down during the winter in 2005. It"s 2011 and for many reasons I feel like it is time to put IRTTD on permanent hiatus. I feel in many ways that the story and I have grown apart. I am not sure anymore where I want to take the characters. I feel like because the story has grown so much sometimes things are hard to keep tract of. When I write I want to give 110% as cheesey as that sounds. I feel like I can't do that with IRTTD anymore. The story will always be my baby. I have the story saved and someday I may return to it. Right now I am going into my final year of nursing school, I have work demands, family,I feel I just can't balance time between two stories anymore.

The story of "In retrospect to the dead" and the characters belong to me. If the "IRTTD" is ever going to be finished it will be done by me. I have seen a few stories on this site where other authors have tried to finish someones work. I don't feel that is right. The stories are never the same and they seem to lack heart. I am updating this because usually the summer is when I do most of my writing. However, I felt the need to let those who have followed the story for quite some time to know that there will be no updates this summer. In the past I have seen some really great authors on this site just suddenly stop writing. I hate not knowing what is happening to a story. So out of respect to those who have followed my story I just wanted to let them know what is going on. Final update for IRTTD fall 2011. So after spending the summer deciding what to do with the story, I have finally decided to take it down. I have looked it over and realized that it needs massive editing to make it flow better and work as a story. I knew how the story was going to end, which was orignally to kill off Brady and leave the story open for a sequel. However, I started to rethink the whole idea. So now I am back to square one with the story. I might consider going back to the story when I am done school, but for now as it stands it will not be reposted unless the writing gods give me a good solid push.

Current projects: It's 2011 and Beyond the Cemetery Gates. Beyond the Cemetery Gates is a tough story to write simply because I am trying to get into the head of several different characters without making them sound all the same. Trying to think like a convict, a nurse and a couple from the rough areas of Detroit is challenging. So if I take some time with updates it's simply because I want to stay true to the characters and make the story unique. I think this summer I am going to try and focus on "BTCG". I love survival stories and zombies offer the most intense stories when it comes to survival. Last year I had a specific idea of where I wanted to take the story. However, this year I think I would like to make some subtle changes to my original idea. I also want to up the gore factor as well. I hope people enjoy the story. Not everyone will like it, but I hope not everyone will hate it. So from now to August I will try and update regularly.
