TevfikArif TevfikArif is a world-famous Turkish real estate developer born in today’s Kazakhstan. At the time of his birth in 1953, that country was a part of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Arif went to Moscow to study International Relations in the Institute of Economics & Trade where he successfully graduated. The Soviet Ministry of Trade and Commerce employed him in the Hotel Management department as a deputy director. Upon the USSR’s existence ended in 1991, he founded Chemicals Trading Company, a business whose goal was to trade chrome, rare metals, and raw materials. He also had a short endeavor with the Trans World Group, but he soon decided to move to Turkey. Arif had a jewelry business there and he decided to focus on developing it. It seems that he had great success as it allowed him to partner with Rixos and erect Labada hotel in Antalya. The Turkish businessman bought ACCP plant in Kazakhstan in 1994. Successful business endeavors secured him the opportunity to start offshore-based companies that he used for funding capital projects in both Turkey and Kazakhstan. The biggest business adventure for Arif started in 2001 when he established the Bayrock Group on the US ground. The group started by redeveloping a renowned shopping center Seaport Plaza in Brooklyn. Arif established contact with Donald Trump, whose company licensed him to develop TrumpSoHo. The construction of the hotel caused a lot of controversies when it comes to financing, but that didn’t stop Arif in his plans. The Bayrock Group continued doing business with Trump developing the Trump International Hotel and Tower in Florida, as well as partnering on other projects throughout the US and in Russia, Ukraine, Poland, and Kazakhstan. In 2011, TevfikArif Doyen Sports Investment was founded. This is a hedge fund that works with European and South American football players and clubs and specializes in financial advisory and speculation. The fund acts as an alternative to a bank and provides loaning and credits to football clubs. During the last several years, they participated in some of the biggest football transfers, including Neymar to Barcelona and Mangala to Manchester City. There is not much information about Arif’s private life. It is thought that he is stationed in Turkey, but the public knows that he also bought a manor in Port Washington, US.
