About me Favorite genres: I prefer fiction that's obscure, unconventional, genre busting and/or deconstructing. In the midst of all the "Par for the course" and "Taken for granted" stories, I go for the ones that stand out. Sexuality: Bi, but I'd prefer a girl because I'd like to have kids. Religion: Agnostic Deist. Fundamentalists of all kinds piss me off. Hobbies: Random research, useless knowledge can be so entertaining. I also love listening to OSTs. Fanfiction Pet-Peeves "I suck at summaries"/"summary inside": If you can't be arsed to write a good summary, how can I trust you to write a good fanfic? All it does is make you look lazy. Demonization/"Ron the death-eater": Turning a good character into an evil one doesn't make him or her "more interesting" It butchers canon as well as offending or alienating that character's fans. Preachiness/Author Tracts: Opinion's are like dicks. It's all right to have one and be proud of it, but don't wave it in people's faces or shove it down their throats. Mary-sue/Gary-stu: Do I really need to explain this one? Mundanization/Gijinka-fic: If you write a Kirby fic where all the characters are human and/or living on present day Earth, then It's not a Kirby fic anymore. It's a fic about a bunch of random morons in kirby costumes who just happen to have the same names as Kirby characters. Cookie-Cutting/ Chop-Suey fics: "Movie/game/book's story with another movie/game/book's cast! How exciting!" more like how uncreative. The worst ones are where the "replacements" don't seem to have any logic or reason to them. Take the many "X-laddin" stories, I mean, Arceus as Razoul and Theodore the Chipmunk as Jafar? Seriously? Grammar fail: Confusing "there" with "their" a few times is understandable. Writing "fraise" instead of "Phrase" or "tho" instead of "though" is just pathetic. |
