My name is Deolinda Reagan Fly but everyone calls me D. because when someone asks me my name and I tell them, I usually get that glazed over mildly confused "what did she just say?" stare. You know the one I'm talking about? My ceramics teacher pointed out my freshman year of high school that my name looked like a dragonfly and it sort of stuck. Dragonfly's are odd creatures with fierce names and delicate but beautiful wings, I started drawing more parallels than just like names so I'm low-key obsessed with them now.

I believe myself to be a “kindred spirit” as Anne of Green Gables would say. I hope to be a well read, educated person who never stops dreaming and exploring. I do not mean to be cliche in any way--but the fact that I am doing this later than I ever do anything (11:37, yeah I'm a wimp) may add a bit of idealistic sparkle to my language. I am an artistic and linguistic soul and while I am a diligent student who does her mathematics….I can not say I love them quite the same. I feel deeply and therefore hurt deeply at times but like to think I have a reasonable head on my shoulders. I do not take long walks on the beach in my spare time and am not a graceful social butterfly, but I love the intricacies and delicacies of human interaction and weaving what I see into my stories and novels that I hope to someday perfect into great pieces of literature. My ultimate goal is to be a published author someday, I have finished a complete novel manuscript and have dozens more well on their way, but fan-fiction is often a nice break from the pressure my books have on me. Fan-fiction to me is an opportunity to better my writing so that eventually I may feel confident enough to actually try publishing my original stories. For now however I will continue to practice and create and enjoy these beautiful characters of other's worlds in a means to better my own.
