I'm a college sophomore (almost twenty!) from Chicago going to school in Miami, studying Marine Biology. I love to write and am working on a science fictionish novel currently. Favorite book series are Harry Potter, Chronicles of Narnia, Twilight, the Ender saga, Meg Cabot's Mediator series and 1-800-Where-r-u series and Tamora Pierce's stories of Tortall. Anything by Anne McCaffrey is usually amazing too. Basically, 'll read anything and everything you put in front of me!

As far as fanfiction goes, I like stories based on different POVs from the originals (like Ron and Hermione on the Harry Potter series), and ones that focus on important but little known characters in the series (like the wolves of Twilight). I like closure in my stories, and if something doesn't feel properly ended, I tend to look for it on fanfiction (Albus, Rose and Scorpius, or whatever happened to Susan Pevensie). I'm not well known for finishing writing long stories, so anything that I choose to post here will be rather short, but usually well thought out.

I'm trying to graduate early, which means a lot of science and lab classes, which cuts into my free time, so I won't be one to write a lot of stories, but I really appreciate any feedback, because I will apply it to my other writing, and maybe you'll be seeing my name across the cover of a book in your local bookstore one day.

On the penname- I've had it for awhile, and rather than reflecting some sort of dark young personality, it's a tribute to Orson Scott Card's Ender's Shadow and its sequels (all sharing the word shadow in their titles). Being a high school freshman at the time, I didn't quite feel like an adult yet, nor do Shadowadult or Shadowwoman have quite the same ring to them. Hence, shadowchild. Just for the record. I'm a tad lighter than the name otherwise suggests.
