By 1924 it was apparent that the Great War was finally coming to an end, though not in a sense that most could expect it to end. The Germans were the first to drop their bombs, but soon the whole world followed suit. The remains of mankind hid away underground, and it was there, on a diet of rat meat and other scraps of food, that we survived.
